Mucky Nutz, MugGuard, Long

My Amazon courier kept failing to deliver - eventually claiming to have left it with an absent neighbour. Clearly, it's well worth having because 'the system' retained my one, so I sourced another elsewhere as I had lost my patience.Fitting is easy, and a roll of good quality velcro-ish tape is supplied. Although I opted to go old school and used 4 tie-wraps mounting it above the bridge on my (now retro) Axon-SF8s ... no issue as the MugGuard is pre-drilled with a good choice of usable slots.It's a great bit of kit and worked so well that I felt comfortable moving my Crud Catcher belly-guard lower down to ward off shin-level splatters.

Excellent product but clearly not made for ALL fork types, that being said it works well enough even though I can't manage to get a completely tight fit on my suntour forks. Easy to fit with the velcro strips unless like me you chose not to remove the front wheel until midway through the fit 😂. Price wise they're not the cheapest but if you want quality you gotta fork out for it (pun intended). Length wise should stop most of the spray from the wheel hitting you and the frame. All in all a good purchase and a product I would recommend

Good: Long enough to cover my Nukeproof Mega Comp 2020 front 29er tyre.Nice black matt stealth finish, not shiny as Rapid Racer (RRP) Pro guard ones.Easy to install, comes with a long velcro (You have to cut to your requirement ).Not so good: It's bit flimsy to my liking, may be It's due to velcro fastening. I would recommend zip ties instead for a solid and sturdy fitting. I haven't tested it yet on trails yet.It's quite pricey for a piece of plastic.Latest review after a test ride. It's obviously much better than normal fenders, it keeps your face totally free of muck and any splashes on wet trails (See pic)*. I am quite happy with the long mudguard, highly recommended.

I started off with this on my 26" caliper braked MTB and then when I bought a new 27.5" disc brake bike transferred it across. I think it was easier to fit with disc brakes, but it might be that I had had the practice on the calipers first so that might not be a fair test. But, it sits nice and snug under the forks and the velcro fastening is less likely to cut in to your paint work or erode the plastic as you ride. It seems expensive for what is essentially some moulded plastic but it really does do the job it is designed for. So if you want less wet legs and feet from riding through water then this is great. I don't do much "hardcore" off roading but the muddy fields I've been across have also caused no issues. It looks OK too. I got the long version becuase I thought it would offer better protection than the shorty. I feel this was the correct choice. Overall a recommend.

This, together with the matching rear one, does a fantastic job of keeping the mud off your back, most of the frame and especially your water bottle, they don't clog up even on a really muddy path, the mud is directed away so you can keep going, see the pics, I gave this a good workout over the weekend!

I bought this for a second bike having previously always bought the Mud Hugger brand and been completely satisfied. This time I was let down by them after they inexplicably cancelled my order after 2 days of delay. In need of a quick solution I ordered this Mucky Nuts front mudguard. When I opened the package the guard felt flimsy, when I compared it with the Mud Hugger it is a poorer quality altogether. The other issue with this purchase is the fastening material that comes with it. It’s basically a Velcro strip that you cut to length, fastening material really needs to be sturdy, it was difficult to get a tight fitting and the guard ended up not being fixed firmly in position and then it was catching when the wheel turned. Eventually I decided to start again with cable ties, which is the method supplied by Mud Hugger, I finally fixed it in position using 2 ties each side and 2 at the top fixing to the wheel arch. It’s now firmly in place and hopefully will do the job.

Good price for what is a sturdy mudguard. Fits my old mountain bike well after a fiddly instal. It doesn't move once fitted and performs well.

At box opening I was very concerned, however it turned out to be great for me.As I can't mount anything with screw or bolt fixings on to suspect bike forks, the thick cable ties option worked. The slits in the mud guard are well placed and accept a range of banded fixings. It stays in place and does the job.The plastic material seems ok to me. Not easy snapped and is pliable enough to get a good fit.I only rarely hear a tiny rub on challenging terrain that is really hardly worth mentioning and gives me zero concern. I recommend using wide cable ties. Im happy with the item and its working and complimentary to my bike style and function. Have had no issues with mud spatter. Good value. The image i uploaded is showing it on 26 inch wheels.
