Great idea, awful product extremely cheap and loses blutooth connection constantly as well as quite a bit of static, don’t waste your money like I did

I've had the Aurabulb for a couple months now. I love the light, and it's easy enough to use, however the sound quality is pretty underwhelming (especially if you listen to anything with bass), and the battery charge doesn't last very long, which would be fine, but the power cord sent with the bulb is low quality-- mine hardly works anymore after a few months of fairly light use. Overall I think this is a pretty good cheap gift, but if you want a quality home speaker I would probably spend 10-20 bucks more and get something substantially better.

The sound is good and the colors are too. Easy to use!

It comes in a shape of a huge light bulb, which is made of rubber and the bottom part is made of quality metal mesh material.It has the rubberised control buttons, which include the power key, volume up/down, which also allow to skip tracks, play/pause button an the light key.On the back side we have a micro USB charging port and the AUX input for non-Bluetooth devices.The bottom is made of rubber, so the speaker doesn’t slide on the table.If you don’t like the light bulb idea, you can easily take the rubber bulb part off and the speaker looks kind of nice without it. There is a light under the plastic and on the top there is a dedicated subwoofer.Divoom Aurabulb Smart Bluetooth Music Lamp Speaker: FUNCTIONALITYThe Divoom Aurabulb is a really cool speaker as it has a full range RGB LED and you can adjust the colours, brightness of it and choose from a variety of different colour modes. Also, you can do it in a couple of ways. You may choose from the preset ones by pressing a light button on the speaker or you can download a free app either for Android or iOS to take a full manual control and get a lot more features.The interface of the app is easy to use and here you can choose from tons of different colours and adjust the brightness or simply turn off the light. Also, you can select different modes of the light like flashing, pulse or rainbow effects. In each mode you man manually select colours and I think it is pretty cool.Also, you can simply shake your device to change colours and that another fun part of this speaker.In addition, the app has a music player but if you don’t like it, you can simply use your phone’s player.There is also a sleep timer and the alarm clock and you can choose from different pre-loaded scenes to help you fall asleep or wake up in the morning.Divoom Aurabulb Smart Bluetooth Music Lamp Speaker: SOUND QUALITYI have to say that I am really impressed with the sound quality this tiny speaker can produce. For the size of the speaker, the sound has a good amount of depth, the mids and highs sound pretty good. Also, the bass is really powerful and the speaker is even having a hard time sitting on the table at the highest volume setting.Speaking of which, I was impressed that the speaker didn’t make any crackling noises when playing music at the maximum volume. And yeah, the speaker is very loud.Overall, I am really happy with the sound quality and the volume output the Aurabulb can produce.Divoom Aurabulb Smart Bluetooth Music Lamp Speaker: CONCLUSIONSOverall, the Divoom Aurabulb is a great product considering the feature set you are getting, a great build quality, awesome sound and volume output.Also, this is not another Bluetooth speaker with some basic functionality as you can use the Aurabulb in a lot of different ways.I could get about 5 hours of music playback, which is not really impressive but not the worst either considering the size of this gadget. A good thing is that the Bluetooth range has no issues at all.However, the handsfree feature is not the best out there. Well, you can still make a conversation but the voice could sound more clearly.Also, the price of $50 maybe a little bit too steep for some and I would say it could cost around $10 less. The media could not be loaded. This is a fantastic speaker / lamp combo that offers something a little bit different. The lamp section is easy to sync and control and offers a variety of modes depending on your mood.I think its ideal place would be bedside as a nightlight and with that in mind would have been great if a remote was integrated. Still you can control the luminosity from the app so even if it is close you in bed you can dial it down if you want. It also has an alarm feature which would prove invaluable in this use although would require a bluetooth connection to your phone overnight. There are several modes such as pulsing and rainbow or you can just leave it as a single color.As a speaker its `OK' meaning it isn't great but basically the speaker component is the same size as a mini speaker so if compared to similar size speakers it sounds pretty good.Sync issues with video as you will see the timing is off in my video. Not a deal breaker I wouldn't be watching movies with it so not the end of the world but it may be something to consider if this is important to you.Really cool product - solid and well made - a bit different and I really like it.Product provided for review - its just my opinion

The media could not be loaded. I just got this Aurabulb music lamp from Divoom and absolutely love it! When it arrived it was much larger than I expected... but the bulk of the size is made up of the soft silicone "bulb". The speaker itself is slightly larger than say the mini bluetooth shower speakers. It is heavier for it's size than others I have owned though which is a good indicator of it's build quality and the size of the speaker's driver.I had installed the Aurabulb app on my android phone prior to the speaker arriving but there is also a QR code you can scan on the box to get the (free) app. I had no problem whatsoever syncing my phone to the speaker or to the app. With the app you can control both the lighting functions as well as your music. In addition there is an alarm clock function.The light that it gives off is brighter than the similar sized color changing essential oil diffuser I own but it is also dimmable. You can turn off the light completely as well and still play music although unfortunately you can't turn off the speaker power completely with the app. The light has 5 different settings... normal which allows you to select your color manually, flashing, 2 different pulse settings, and rainbow which cycles through the entire color range.The sound quality from the speaker is good but not great. Certainly as good or better than others I have tried in this size and price range. Not quite up to par with the Divoom Aurabox but that speaker is larger and higher priced so not really a fair comparison.I was provided a sample from Divoom in exchange for my honest and unbiased review and I couldn't be happier with this speaker!
