Superb buy- thanks Amazon - destroys garlic and ginger roots - makes mincemeat of mince :)) and goes through butterenut squash and root veg with ease - worth 5 times as much - great steel and handle that will last for decades IF used and looked after!

Nice blade.
My wife really likes it. It has a very sharp edge and significantly lighter than a similar name brand knife. It is much easier for her to handle and makes chopping and slicing a breeze.

I give it 4.75 stars! the only tiny flaw... is....
The only tiny flaw is the handle wasn't treated with enough protective oil. I gave the handle a few coats of oil, rubbed in good & let it dry. Other than that tiny issue I absolutely love this CLEAVER! It's so sharp, it cuts through super thick meat with ease.... Much better cleaver than ones I have used at 3 times the price!

Very sharp Chinese-style chef's knife
It's a very sharp knife. good balance, nice for chopping and slicing. The hand is a little dry, and I oil it with lemon oil for my chopping board.

Not your grandmother’s knife
Beware that I am not a chef and do not cook regularly. Recalling to my childhood days where chores required me handling the Chinese butcher knives, this knife, in comparison, is ultra sharp but very light. The lightness I gather is from the thinness of the blade. The combination makes an unpleasant scratching feeling with every cut - edge catching on cutting board akin to nails on the blackboard.

Rough edges, poor quality.
I like the look of this knife, but I did not try cutting anything. When I held it in my hand, I noticed that the tang was not flush with the wood handle. The tang is slightly raised above the handle surface, and has rough sharp edges on both sides. That led me to believe that if I was chopping many vegetables, eventually it would cut into my skin. The rivets are the same way, when I pass my fingers over the rivets, I can feel the rough edges. This is a nice looking knife, it is a shame they did not take the time to eliminate the rough edges. This knife lacks quality of craftsmanship. I'm sorry to say that I cannot recommend this product.
