After reading through some of these reviews I had to make my own to try and counter the negative dramatics because my son took these for the first 2 years of his life and showed tremendous improvement. Was it the vitamins? Perhaps. Let me start off by saying I extensively researched baby vitamins for months and these smarty pants baby vitamins have the highest choline content you will find out there. Choline is used for brain development. Tons of research shows it helps cognition and neurological function. The more the better. This vitamin right here is packed full of it. Next is the DHA... that's the stuff every body is over exaggerating. They use algal oil to keep the product vegan and I personally like that it isnt derived from fish oil because that means no heavy metals. Does it have a particular smell? Yes.. will it stain the bottle/cup? Also yes... Does it do wonders for brain development? Heck yes.... it's definitely different but it isn't beyond human consumption and I mixed it in milk and my son drank it from 6 months to 2 yrs with no issue what so ever. My recommendation would be to start as young as you can and get them acclimated to it. If you start later just be prepared to hide it in puree or drink. The benefits of this vitamin far outweigh the down sides because you won't find another like it, trust me, I looked.Anyway, I hope my review helps another weary eyed mom at midnight on the search for a vitamin that will truly help their baby. This is the one. Give it a shot and take the negative reviews with a grain of salt. You would be hard pressed to find a little one that LOVES vitamins.Despite the negative reviews, I hope smarty pants keeps this vitamin in stock because they are helping babies like mine who need it the most.

Writing this under a five star review to hopefully help someone avoid what happened to me:The five star reviews are for the gummies- NOT the baby vitamins. I didn’t realize that and purchased the baby vitamins after seeing all of the five star reviews…I gave it to my son and he spit it out which I thought was odd and then after I finished giving it to him I smelled something horrid and realized it was the vitamin. It is absolutely NASTY. I feel terrible for giving this to my child and was so confused as to how I could have missed reviews talking about it so came to look and sure enough all of the one star reviews are about the baby ones. I love Smarty Pants baby probiotics but this is REPULSIVE. I’m terrified for the next 24 hours after reading the other reviews about diarrhea & vomiting & diaper rash & night terrors. I want to cry because I wish I hadn’t given it to my baby. This is a HORRIBLE product. Do not fall for the five star reviews for the toddler gummies!

The media could not be loaded. My kid vomit after taking this, this smells like sea water fish. The taste and smell is unbearable. After I swallowed this to see what my kid experienced. It made me gag. It's not hard to swallow because it's liquid but it would make one spit it out due to the taste. It's watery and greasy. U have to shake it up to mix up the 2. Oil looks yellow. Other part of the liquid looks like watered down skim milk. If you get this on your skin or clothes. The smell is hard to get off. I had to use bleach and soap just to remove the smell. And I was burping up the taste and re-smelling it all over again. I wouldn't give this to a kid alone, in liquid or in food. Cause I tried and the smell over powers anything you put it in. This can be good for a kid that gets their food or supplements through a G-tube/feeding tube. Because it bypasses the mouth. But it's a NO for us. It was packaged well to prevent spillage.

I was having a hard time finding a healthy infant multivitamin. It amazes me how so many vitamins contain so many artificial ingredients, including artificial sweeteners and dyes. At first I bought a multivitamin with iron, but that constipated my 7 MO. Then I found this vitamin without any iron. My son is no longer constipated. Also, I’d say this vitamin contains natural and healthy ingredients at least for my comfort. It does have a strong Oder, but my son seems to tolerate the taste much better than our previous vitamin. He doesn’t make a stink face, and he doesn’t try to gag it up. I just mix it with whatever food I’m feeding him for breakfast, and he eats it all up. I’d recommend this vitamin as one of the more natural and healthier infant multivitamins. It is also more reasonably priced.

so happy to see 'cleaner' baby products out there now a days... we are so happy with this.first off, its completely nondeductible in milk; we add to our 13 month olds milk and he doesnt notice. i am sure you could mix it into anything.but the smell is not pleasant. its what youd expect from this vitamin: fishy. BUT it tastes completely different! it tastes like citrus. so, your LO wont notice the taste but it does smell a bit weird.regardless we love it and trust it. boost the brain power! we just reordered and will continue to do that...i also think they could work on the dropper part thorough. its a syringe that you have to tip the bottle upside down to get it out but its fine. i am sure we could also remove the little soft plastic thing that prevents getting it the other way. anyway, not a huge deal but we want every last drop and you can still get it either way.

I've been giving this to my recently turned one year old for the past few days and I noticed that when I put it in her cup or her food, she doesn't finish it all (which is not normal b/c she LOVES to eat haha) so I just decided upon myself to taste it and realized this does taste TERRIBLE!! I think what I'll start doing is giving her half the dosage twice a day instead and see how that works out...even as I write this, I still have the nasty after taste in my mouth so I can imagine how it feels to my daughter lol...I'll see how the half dosage works and will edit my review.
