I SHOULD HAVE DISREGARDED THE POOL SERVICE'S ADVICE ON PUMP POWER EARLIER*******************
This pump works awesome!! I have an inground 20000 gallon pool with a lot of leaves from trees that fall into the pool. When I had to replace my pump earlier, I wanted to get a 2 hp pump. I listened to two different pool techs tell me that 2 hp was excessive in size and power for this size of pool. One of them even went on to say that a 2 hp pump would filter the water so quickly, that the water would not be filtered properly. They told me this even though I have a lot of leaves fall into the pool. I ended up getting a 3/4 hp pump based on their recommendation. Later on that same pump got gummed up by a pool leak sealer, so I replaced it with the 2 hp version of the same model. The 2 hp model works incredibly well. I have enough power for the skimmer, side pool vacuum, and bottom drain to all work at the same time, with plenty of power. The previous 3/4 hp model had enough suction to perform these tasks, but only two at a time instead of three. In addition, the 3/4 hp pump vacuum would work in conjunction with either the skimmer or bottom drain simultaneously, but everything had to be just right. If there was a moderate amount of leaves or debris in any part of the drain, filter, or suction intake, performance would be drastically affected. Furthermore, I suspect that if I had the 2 hp pump in use when I used the fix a leak pool sealer, the excess power would have prevented the 3/4 hp pump from gumming up. Either way, if I had gone with this 2 hp model like I first wanted, I wouldn't have needed to replace the first pump. Going with an underpowered pump is just an opportunity to need excessive tech service calls, in my opinion.

Great pump, quit, and powerful.
Our pool pump decided to retire after about 18 years of service. I ordered this pump, as a replacement, and I am very happy with the quick delivery and the way the pump works. It is way stronger than the old pump, as far as pressure is concerned, the old pump when it was running would give me about 10 to 20 PSI on the filter gage, depending on whether the filter is clean or not so clean. The day before it died on me, the filter pressure gage registered 12 PSI, with the new pump installed it registers 22 PSI, quite a difference. Yet both pumps are rated at 2 HP. What's even more surprising it that the pump was delivered a day after ordering it. I couldn't believe the service from this supplier, and I couldn't expect any better than this.

This pump is fantastic! I actually think it might be a little "too powerful" for my piping, but it does cycle the water quickly. It does make noise, but it's hardly noticeable. My old pump had a bearing go out, and that could be heard 3 houses away. This pump can barely be heard from 20 feet away. All in all, a great value for the money, and I installed it myself with about $10 in materials from home depot.

Great pump... not very energy friendly
I had a Variable Speed pump prior to this one made by a different company (HW). That one died after only about 3.5 years of use and I was determined I wasn't going to sink another $1,000 on a pump after only 3.5 years. I decided to go back to a standard single speed pump... at least for now. I'd always heard good things about the Pentair pumps... never had one. I bought this one and when it came in I was a little skeptical... the packaging was... shall we say... less than stellar? It looked like they dropped it in the box and stuffed some foam pillows around it. The box, when it was delivered, looked like it had been through a ware zone. I was a bit worried so I took lots of pics. Well... the pump was fine. The packaging was DOA but the pump didn't have a scratch on it ;) I had the new pump installed in probably just about an hour. It was really easy... and the pump is fairly light compared to my previous pump. Since this is a single speed pump, I also had to install a control relay. I had already ordered a contactor and Z-Wave control relay to interface with my smart-home controller. Worked perfectly. This pump is very quiet when it runs. Pushes plenty of water to run my cleaner and turnover my pool volume in a short amount of time. It does, however, put a drain on the power usage. At 2HP... this thing pulls about 6.5Amps at 220Vac. That's around 1.4Kw of power. If you run it for.. 8 hours, that's 11.2KwH of electricity added to your bill every day. I'll probably be buying another VS pump soon and keep this one as an emergency backup when I install it. It's a great pump... works perfectly. Just uses too much electricity to keep long term... especially once I've seen the difference a VS pump can make. I just won't be buying the same brand VS pump I did before.

Great product and again, great service from Amazon
My previous pump caught on fire due to overheating and a plastic shroud that I installed to protect it from the elements (I'll not do that again). I placed my order on a Friday at 11:45 EST for this pump/motor and was given the choice of next day delivery for $9. I took the offer while expecting delivery to be delayed to Monday. To my surprise, Amazon got the product shipped and delivered early in the morning on Saturday. I've since then installed it and it's working great. It's much quieter than my Sta-Rite.

Broke during shipping, box arrived crushed
Box crushed pump looked good til out of box. Electric ( circle) box screw snapped in half. Electric tab where male adapter goes thru to pull wires completely broke off. Pump works , however impossible to keep water proof without wrapping tape around back.So returning for a new one shipped properly. Something very heavy had to fall on . Want to make sure I don't have to pay for this shipping back. Box bad condition may have to use another box. Thank you in

Be aware of this pump and the SELLER.
After installation, the pump worked for few hours and then stopped building pressure. Since then, we thought something else was wrong all this time, because we never suspected that a new pump can go out so fast however, today the pool company finally sent their technician here. After testing the entire system he finally had no other choice but to take the pump apart and found a broken impeller. We spent all this time and tech money on purchasing and installation and diagnosis chasing everything else and in the end it was the brand new pump purchased from you. Because if this, my 6 year old granddaughter was forced to use the public pool and became sick from bacteria. This pump shut down our pool and ruined our summer 2021. WOW moment was when we contacted the seller of this product, their reply was in one sentence contact the manufacturer’s and provided their phone number which is easily available. They did not offer any other help or apologize even after we told them the pump they sold us only worked for few hours.

Cheapest price online
This is an exact replacement for my pump that just failed after 4 seasons. Pool company quoted me a price of $1000+ for this exact unit with installation. Came packed securely, and if you aren’t afraid of wiring the unit, it’s actually a pretty easy install. I don’t like the fact that in order to get the 1 yr manufacturers warranty you need to have it installed by a pool professional. I did buy the 4 yr warranty to help in the event it fails.
