Pricey, but works perfectly
It's pretty costly if you're going to make 3 or 4 cabinet doors. But it works great. Good instruction on how to use it, how to set it up for all kinds of situations, too. And it makes beautiful raised panel doors.

Ordered Twice - No Instructions or CD as Shown in Either Set
Great blades reason for 4 stars, but would've been nice to have received the instructions and CD that is supposed to be included. Phone number for customer support is wrong in Amazon, it's actually a landscaper on east coast. Went to Freud website, downloads are not the same as another person posted in the reviews.Update on getting instructions: you have to create an account on the Freud website, go to products, find the bit set, click on downloads and they have the full-on set of instructions shown in the reviews. Phew!

Quality beats quantity any day.
Amazing router bits. I will never get cheap bits again. You definitely get what you pay for when it comes to router bits. I went through 2 other sets of the cheap bits here on Amazon and both burned the wood. Then I broke down and spent the money on these and omg they went through the wood like butter without any burn marks. Quality beats quantity any day. From now on I will only get the best and not have to worry about if they will get the job done or not.

Rail and style bits are an exact match
The tolerance on the bits is very tight. I milled up 20 raised panel doors out of MDF and they are spot on. Joints fit very tight and square. I dry fit one door together and they fit so tight I had to use a spreader to get them apart! The panel bit is quite large. It cuts the face and back in one pass. You will need a large router to power it, I wouldn’t use anything less than 2 HP. Very pleased with the results.

Profile of Stile and Rail Cutters are not an exact match.
I typically like Freud products. The bits are sharp and long lasting. Those traits appear to be true for this set. Unfortunately, the profile of the stile and rail cutters are not an exact match. When door is assembled with the rails and stiles in the same plane (a flat door), there is about 1/32 gap on the front side. When gluing and clamping this gap causes the door frame to be misaligned. I assume this is why there are instructions for an optional extended tenon, which is a very complex task. For a company with Freud's reputation, I would have expected the pieces to align. The second problem with this set is the lack of a back-cutter for the raised panel bit. They don't tell you this. In order to assemble the door, you need to separately route the back cut. The set is useable, but to make a quality door, you have to do a lot of extra work to make up for their poor design.Lastly, the instructions are generic for all of their cabinet door sets. You have to figure out what to do when your set is different. Also, the formulas for stile, rail and panel dimensions are written out in sentences in small print. The instruction pamphlet is not available online, which would at least allow for zooming in to read it.I am truly disappointed.

Very well machined bits. Accuracy counts big time in cope and stick bits, and these bits were deadly accurate.
This is a great set of versatile panel bits, because you can use various thickness woods. I had made raised panel doors by table saw, and had to sand forever. No need with these bits. I have the big Milwaukee 5625 router I set up with my linear actuator ( diy router lift) and swing the panel bit at the 12000 setting...... it did an awesome job! The cope and stick bits took a little time, trial and error with scrap pieces, to set up. They all do.... but the big difference for me in these bits, is that once I got them aligned, they were deadly, deadly accurate. You have so much going on in raised panel doors with spacing that you really appreciate that accuracy. Not always so with cheaper bits- and you don't need it for simple profiles, but you cannot live without it in cabinet doors.I buy mostly Freud and Lee Valley bits in that order. My first choice is Freud, and if they don't make it I go to Lee Valley, which is a close second. In my opinion, Freud is the best at machining their bits.I have tried a few cheaper ones, and have always ended up disappointed, so I have come to the conclusion to spend the extra money. I also hear Rockler, Infinity and a few others are very good. I was satisfied with Freud, and stayed. Hope this helps someone.and walk away happier.
