why go with 10 micron vs. the 5? is 10 better?

10 micron filters usually last longer due to slightly higher flow. In my case a 5 micron filter only last for approximately 3 months but I can stretch a 10 micron filter out for 5-6 months, also they are usually cheaper too that always helps.

Will this replace kx matrikx 06-250-125-975 lead, cyst, chlorine taste and odor reduction filter, 10-inch?

no need a filter to remove lead and 1 micron in size for the cyst.

Rated for how many gallons? I really hope all the filters are rated the same so that I change all once a yr or 2.

I have to change my filters every 6 months due to our water condions
