Two pictures and two lines of typed text go onto one 15 oz ceramic cup, wrapped so the front and the back each carry their own artwork. Whatever is uploaded is what reaches the press: a pet, a portrait, a company mark, or one word in plain type. The layout is drawn on this page before checkout. Apps compress a picture on the way through, and what lands can be a fraction of the original. Ask for the file from the camera roll of whoever took it, before it was ever sent on. My photograph is tall rather than square, and the good part of it sits off to one side. What happens on the cup? A tall picture keeps its full height and leaves the printed area narrower, while a wide one gives up its outer edges to the curve. Neither is wasted. Crop it square yourself first if the part that matters sits away from the centre of the frame. My coffee machine has a low clearance and a tall cup will not fit under the spout. Is this one going to slide in? It stands about 12 cm tall, which is 4.7 inches, so measure the gap under your spout first. The extra volume in this cup comes from a wider body rather than a taller one, which is why it clears more machines than a slim 15 oz cup does.
