What does pop up sticky notes mean versus regular post it sticky notes?

From my experience (not the seller or vendor), when you reach to take a sheet, it pops up like an accordian in response; just gently take one and the place the few that pull up and it stays in place. The other style of Post its - the sheets are already individually separated. That is the only difference. I am happy either way in using the Post it and it comes with 5 pads all connected.
