Good choice for Linux users!
This is a great choice on USB Wireless for Linux 2.6 users.Got the driver here: (2570 version)--[...]Installed driver, config'd with iwconfig, ran dhclient and success!I was on the internet in a matter of 15 minutes. Most of that time was spent downloading and burning the drivers to disk on my other computer so I could get them on this machine.I am running MythTV and this device allowed me to place my shuttle box in a very cramped place that had no chance of a physical network cable.Wireless PCI was not an option as my box only has one PCI slot and that was used for my video capture card. USB Wireless seemed sketchy to me but thanks to open source projects, a solution was already engineered for me.This is why Linux will prevail as the OS of choice. I am running a completely *legal* open source TiVo and not paying a dime for service. Does your TiVo have a 400Gb HD? Hardware like this DLINK worked right out of the box, therefore there is no reason not to get this if you were considering this for your Linux environment.Reception is excellent and mine came with a nice cradle that keeps it away from the computer for clear reception.Configuration was easy and seemless using the Linux tools built in to the OS. WEP works too. Any configuration windows could do, Linux could do as well.I highly recommend this product.

No problems
Seems to work just fine - only two "complaints":1) depending on the laptop, it seems to be easily jostled loose from its usb connection and therefore loose connection2) range is acceptable for my purposes, but my father had problems getting to talk from the second story of his home to the router in the basement. An alternate linksys card worked just fine. Not sure if this is a universal problem.I've used the adapter for some some impromptu lan gaming since it saves tracking one more wire across the room and had no problems with it.

I think you can do better.
I bought this antenna and the NETGEAR WG111 antenna to compare the two products. The D-LINK DWL-G122 regularly connects at only 36Mbps while the NETGEAR WG111 plugged into the same computer sitting in the same spot connects at the advertised 54Mbps. Perhaps this is just a fluke with my computer or the way the factory default step downs are set up but this is what I have observed.

Doesn't work with Tivo
Funny, I bought this same model product about two years ago and it works fine with both Tivos in my house. So I bought another one so I'd have two 802.11g adapters instead of one "g" and one "b" hoping that would speed up transfer times. But this new one didn't work on either Tivo. So I returned it and am out the shipping charges both ways.I'm loathe to spend the $50 Tivo wants for their adapter -- plus, it's got a long cord. So my search continues.

Great, until it died
Set up fairly easily, though it did involve two calls to customer service, and the folks there are not excellent, but eventually they can help. Worked fine, I was happy. Until it flat out quit functioning at all on Day 28 of it's young life.

Works great !!!!
It worked immediately with no pain - no strain. Exactly what I wanted - and was only about $ 10. plus $ 1.99 Shipping. A great deal. Why pay more when you don't have to is my motto. And I am not embarrassed to shop at the Dollar Tree either .............

Great Product, but does not work with MAC
I've worked a lot with D-link products and I must say they're very good, but if your looking for USB WIFi Adapter that works on macs go for the DWL-122 not the G122, that small letter (G) tells you it wont work on MAC, I got distracted when making my order, so I didn't notice the model diference, and it's very easy to make that mistake. Other than that great product.

worked but did not last long
This item actually works OK. WPA-PSK worked OK for me (with DI-624 router). The problem lies in the construction of this adapter. Mine broken after a few month of use. If you use it often on your laptop, the wires within the adapter can snap fairly quickly. I had to have mine soldered back on, but it is now broken again. I recommend that you either get a different one, or make sure using the USB dangle every time...FYI, I bought mine from Fry's for about FIVE bucks after rebates...

Wireless LAN USB 2.0
Empfehlenswert!
