Body of Art

This book is not about bodies being art or even just slightly controversial. There are photos of naked young children. I didn’t share them in my review because it would be distributing child pornography. The multitude of vile and disturbing images should land the photographer in prison.

Fine book, was a requested gift for my husband (an abstract artist). He has poured over it and the book still sits in his wonderful, messy studio open to favorite pages while gathering fingerprints and dust.

Oh how I love this book. Exceptional editing and assembling of images by theme, dancing through time. Will treasure and reference for years to come.

Another good survey about body in art. For art and BODY lovers! :-)

Ottimo volume con splendide immagini, ognuna con un commento breve ma spesso con dettagli importanti, la sua forza sta principalmente nel fare accostamenti e fare paragoni fra opere di artisti di epoche o generi lontani tra loro cogliendone le differenze o i punti in comune e facendo nascere meglio in questo modo spunti di riflessione sul suo argomento principale, come da sempre ma in maniera sempre diversa l'arte esprima il corpo ed il corpo il pensiero artistico.
