Why didn't I buy this a long time ago!!!!
We have a Single cab Chevy Colorado with barely enough room for one or two small bags behind our seats so they can still recline comfortably while we drive. This Bar was a LIFE SAVER and STRESS SAVER as well.On our trips, Usually we tie strap our stuff down and everytime we need something out of the back, or out of the ice chest at our pit stops, we have to undo the straps.... it became a pain. This time, For two seperate Holiday trips, We put all of our luggage-bags, Potted Plants we had as gifts, ice chest, totes etc... all up against the cab in the truck bed and the bar kept everything in place. NOTHING MOVED!I did tie a small bungie strap to a couple small bag handles (Had christmas gifts in them) so no one could just walk by and pull them out of the truck, other than that nothing was sliding or out of place.Even when we got back I went to the grocery story and extended the bar towards the tailgate to hold my groceries in place. Same thing... Nothing moved. This bar is so easy to use and is made very well. (We had seen the Reese brand bike racks at a U-Haul office before, so we saw the quality in person, but hadn't purchased any of their stuff)So Happy with this cargo bar, grips on the ends are large and hold in place even against a plastic bed liner, the bar is made of Heavy duty materials and seems very sturdy and well made. I am glad I spent the extra few bucks and got the ratchet style, I think I would have been disappointed with the turn bar- grip style.Spend the extra couple bucks and get a ratcheting style bar!! You will not regret it.

A Good Choice for Value, Function, and Price
It's a good compromise of value, function, and price. There are more expensive cargo bars out there that may be of "beefier" construction but this one is plenty strong and it just works. The racheting system is the same you will find on racheting cargo straps so operation should be familiar. This cargo bar fits as secure as you'll want it to fit and holds up to heavy shifting cargo without budging. I'm glad I saved myself a few bucks and chose this model by Reese. Personally, I've had good luck with Reese products in the past so it comes as no surprise that this was a good choice.

Problem solver!
I always had a problem with cargo sliding forward when I had to apply brakes a little stronger than normal. This was especially true because I sometimes transport liquid chlorine for my pool and 6 gallon gas cans for my power equipment and generator. The incident that broke the camels back so to speak, was when a vehicle pulled out of a shopping center right in front of me while I was transporting chlorine and I had to hit my brakes. One of the jugs of chlorine spilled because of sliding forward and leaked chlorine in my truck bed. Cleaned it out but vowed to find a solution and this brace was it! I normally have to fill up six 6 gallon plastic gas cans at a time and transported them inside the truck which took several days to get the gas smell out. Just took care of that problem also as I can now transport all 6 gallon cans in the truck bed just like the chlorine. This cargo brace works as advertised and once applied I don’t have to worry about any shifting cargo. Would recommend this to anyone! Love it!

Keeps truck bed items within reach.
I bought this to keep items from sliding around in the bed of my truck. It seemed like whenever I got somewhere all the items were scattered all over and I'd have to climb into the bed to get them. This item solved that problem as I easily installed it right behind the wheel wells in the box and it kept all my items within reach. It's a very simple ratchet to use, releases on the squeeze of the lever and secures tightly in place. I've used it in several different spots/lengths in my truck bed and has stayed tight every time. The pads on the end are on a ball joint so they adjust to any angle. Also retracts to about 40" long so it's easy to set out of the way when not in use.

Great Idea - But VERY VERY FLIMSY
The item is a great idea - but to get any sort of hold you will actually be pushing the sides of the pickup ed outward and deforming them.It is very weak construction at best.If you anticipate any type of heavy hold this is not the item for you. For very light weight items to keep from shifting the bed, this is ok to use.Not what I am used to from Reese Products.
