This definitely was a useful product to convert an existing SATA connector to an ESATA connector in one easy step. Definitely very durable and very compatible with SATA. The design is very simple as well. That's great value product allows you to make it so you can use eSATA a connection capabilities.

Easy way to make one of your unused sata ports available for esata. Choose the one with the 18" cable for simple installation.

Shoutouts to Startech for always making incredibly specific and niche products that you always wind up needing. I had an old PC case with an eSATA port I used regularly, and I needed to upgrade the case without sacrificing the port. This simple bracket with a port on it was all I needed and lets me connect harddrives plug and play eSATA with no issue. I have no idea how many people need something like this but I'm glad it exists for my use case!

Works as expected. Glad I got the longer 18" cable so I could run cable to motherboard SATA port from bottom and back of motherboard to avoid the red cable running on top of motherboard. Knocked off 1 star only due to red color. With glass cases becoming the norm a black cable would be more of a neutral color, at least in my case. Functionality is perfect, allows easy quick swapping of unlimited SATA drives paired with an external drive-bay with an eSATA port. Sure you can hot-swap with USB3 but I rather use eSATA.

Did what I needed to do, decent product, works well

Always like to have one of these in my PC's for backing up files with an external drive. Always WAY WAY faster than using a USB interface. This one seems good. The sata connector made a good fit to my motherboard despite not have a locking tab on it.... fits well enough that the locking tab isn't needed at all.

the problem is that the eSATA end that's on the bracket isn't actually shaped properly so when you try to put an eSATA cable in it doesn't really fit right, it's very loose. I've been using a saddle for years so I know exactly what in east side of Port of supposed to look like and this just isn't it. It's a shame. I really wanted to like these but they barely function oh, actually I can't say I would even trust them because the slightest movement of the cable and you're probably going to lose connection and I'm not even willing to short out my drive testing it. Just take my word for it and avoid these and look for something else. I tried to find some tech support for this but there's nobody to talk to that I can find.

was easy to install. nice long eSata cord supplied, my machine saw it right away,, speeds were as advertised... good product, excellent price,, cheaper than from buying from the actual products main web site...

mi placa base no tenia conexión sata y con esta placa pude conectar una grabadora externa blueray sata y va perfecta, muy fácil instalación, sólo la tiene que anclar y conectar a una conexión sata de la placa base.

The reason I wanted to convert SATA to eSATA was to quickly switch between 2.5" OS drives without problems. Using other connections i.e USB for booting drives is problematic but doing it this way works just great! I was a little worried that the cable would be to short in my mini-itx case but it wasn't. Cable management is maybe not optimal but OK. Note that this cable should be paired with a SATA adapter that also has USB connector to provide power for the drive.
