It has a lot of practical exercises and examples to complete throughout the book, along with accompanying labs, most of which work exactly as described in the book with no coding expertise or prior knowledge required, which is not always the case with more dated technologies. It has many interesting insights along the way into the history of services and techniques, as well as the ethical and legal considerations a penetration tester must take into account. I would highly recommend this book if you want to take on a role in penetration testing or are interested in security, as it covers a lot of bases and techniques, and the authors clearly know what they are talking about and have expertise in the field.
