Upgrade now! You won’t regret it, worth the price
The bit does not get hot on the dog’s nail, it hasn’t shown any signs of dulling in 3 months, and the design is perfect for nails that curl tight to the paw pad! Just use the bowl on top and the smooth edges keep their toes safe. I’m a professional groomer and it took me way too long to get one of these. *I bought a cheaper version of the drill that they make and it looks the exact same and works wonderfully with this bit*

The enhanced version is a bargain, not overpriced...
I was shocked to find the only diamond enhanced bit on Amazon is the full but smaller barrel shape (those who complain about cost would not pay $160.00 for the larger premium "Pinnacle" bit design from Whitman's, which I love). Having "dremeled " dog's nails for 40+ years, I can tell you this bit is NOT OVERPRICED. I bought the larger bit in July from Amazon and misnamed the company for the bit I had always purchased, so JUST located it online. I was thrilled to find the "Pinnacle" bit I love was still made by Whitman's and the brush and Diamakleen tool cleaner was also sold on the site. On Amazon, customers are not taught how to maintain the enhanced diamond bit for maximum performance and care. Whitman's Diamakleen tool cleaner and brush (see Whitman's site) should be used after each dog, and the bit then cleaned with the cleaner and brush, then polished with a rag until the entire bit is polished and shows no "black" on the cloth. I recommend this bit, if you don't want to purchase Whitman's premium diamond bit. I only recommend the enhanced version. It is no fun for the dog to have his coat caught on the bit and coat ripped out during use, and trust me, it WILL HAPPEN AT SOME POINT IIF THE STANDARD BIT IS USED. Sadly, I speak from experience before I found the Whitman's bit many years ago. When doing nails with the Dremel, speed should not go above a "6" to avoid causing the dog pain. I ALWAYS stop the minute I see the "white" of the quick, and my dogs have gotten special "goodies" after each nail is "dremeled". There are some breeders/groomers I know that expect the dog to just "take it" without any de-stressing or reinforcement. I find that horrific, but then I stopped using "punishment" of any kind in training my dogs decades ago. As an fyi, there are many books on Amazon written by top trainers who only use "direct->re-direct->reinforce" or reward-based training only.

Don't question these
My buddy's wife is a dog groomer and she had recommended I get one of these when I told her I used a Dremel. For years I stuck with sandpaper rolls and it worked but I was never really happy with the job. After using these, I realized how much nicer it leaves the nail. The rounding feature is great. It takes a bit longer than before but the difference is clear and worthwhile.

Cost too much!
I have been using this item and when you first receive it, it is fantastic! However, after the first few times using it, it did not function as well after that? Reason is you loose some of the "diamond" cutting action? You would think for its price it would last longer especially since it is supposedly built for groomers? So I am sure this is one of those hit and miss items. Some great, some not worth the time or money.

Great product
Love! 9 months of use everyday. I use the large bit on a variable speed corded rotary tool. Depending on length of nails and amount of cooperation, I can do all paws in less than 5 minutes. The concave end is great for smoothing and rounding. I also got the smaller bit. Don’t use it as much, but comes in handy for the little ones. Definitely recommend.

These grinding bits are very good. My dogs are more relaxed whilst using them to shorten their nails with my Dremel 8220. Less vibration and doesn’t heat up like my old sanding drums use to. Thank you for a great product.

Used these bits for a week so far, and love them! I have used the sanding discs, and cheaper diamond bits, and none are as good as these. I use them with a dremel lite cordless, and a smaller craft dremel ( for the small bit). Although the sanding disc is faster, it is also loud and rough. These bits have smoother finish and they are a lot quieter which the dogs love. I was a bit skeptical about there not being a concave surface, but if you watch the video provided, it gives you the technique to use them properly. And a big bonus is they don't grind my nails!!! Yay! I think that is due to the top and bottom ring that has no sanding area. They also seem to resist hair somehow. So I would highly recommend these. My doggy clients have thanked me! Hopefully there is an option to buy just one bit for people with one dremel ( I would recommend the large one)
