The Ultimate Adhesive for Acrylic Projects
IPS Weld-On 16 Acrylic Plastic Cement – The Ultimate Adhesive for Acrylic Projects As someone who frequently works with acrylic materials on the Xtool P2 C02 55w laser machine finding a reliable adhesive that provides strong bonds and a clean finish is crucial. The IPS Weld-On 16 Acrylic Plastic Cement has proven to be an excellent choice for bonding acrylic sheets and other plastic materials. Whether you’re crafting, building custom displays, or working on a DIY project, this cement makes joining acrylic pieces a breeze. Performance & Quality • Strong Bonding Power: This acrylic cement creates a solid, durable bond between acrylic surfaces. It works by chemically fusing the pieces together, which provides a stronger hold compared to regular adhesives. Once bonded, the joints are nearly invisible, making it ideal for projects where aesthetics are important. • Clear Finish: The clear formula ensures that the bond lines remain seamless and unobtrusive, allowing the natural clarity of acrylic to shine through without any visible residue. It doesn’t yellow over time, preserving the look of your project. • Fast Drying: The 5 oz tube is perfect for small to medium-sized projects. The cement sets quickly, which helps with faster assembly and minimal wait time. Ease of Use • Precision Application: The tube comes with a narrow applicator tip that allows for precise placement of the cement, minimizing mess and waste. This makes it easy to apply just the right amount to your project without over-applying. • Versatile Use: It’s ideal for bonding a variety of acrylic materials, including cast acrylic, plexiglass, and even acrylic mirrors. Whether you’re making display cases, signs, or custom designs, this cement does the job. • Minimal Cleanup: After application, there’s very little cleanup required, especially compared to other adhesives that can leave residues or messes. Perfect For: • Acrylic crafting and DIY projects • Sign-making, including custom acrylic signs • Aquarium building or other plastic enclosures • Furniture repair or creating acrylic displays • Model building where clear joints are important Pros: • Strong, clear bond that holds up over time • Quick-setting formula for efficient work • Precision application with the narrow tip • Great for both professional and DIY projects • Works with various types of acrylic materials Cons: • The cement is designed primarily for acrylic and similar plastics, so it may not work as well on other materials like wood or metal • Ventilation is important when using the product, as the solvent fumes can be strong • The 5 oz tube may be a bit small for larger projects, especially if you’re bonding many pieces Final Thoughts The IPS Weld-On 16 Acrylic Plastic Cement is a fantastic product for anyone working with acrylic. It provides a quick, strong, and clear bond, making it ideal for a wide range of projects, from custom displays to professional signage. The precision applicator ensures a clean and neat application, and the result is a seamless finish that enhances the overall look of your work. Pro Tip: For best results, clean the surfaces thoroughly before applying the cement to ensure the best bond. This step ensures that no oils or debris interfere with the cement’s effectiveness. If you’re looking for an easy-to-use, reliable adhesive for your acrylic projects, the IPS Weld-On 16 Acrylic Plastic Cement is an excellent choice that will give your projects the strength and clarity they deserve.

WORKS. WITH. PLA. FILAMENT!!! — LOW. ODOR!
This is the FIRST adhesive I have found that produces quick and [nearly] permanent bonds with PLA “plastic” so common with 3D printing without resorting to extremely strong solvents of the sort used with dental adhesives. The tube size is generous. The product is quite thin and [seems] to produce a good (if imperfect) solvent bond. You get at least a minute of working time from application to final placement. Only need to apply to one surface. High initial adhesion but you can reposition slightly without affecting the bond. An overnight dry yields a very firm joint that [might] prove stronger than the object. There is very little odor and it does not seem particularly volatile. This differentiates from the only type of product I’ve found that produces a truly permanent bond—extraordinarily volatile compounds of the sort used by dentists and mechanics rebuilding plastic automotive parts. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. FOR. 3D. PRINTING. USE!!!

Excellent for 3d printed PLA
Excellent bonding for PLA 3d prints, light years better than often-recommended CA glue. My latest project including gluing two large faces together and because I didn't plan properly, both faces printed with the rough texture of the build plate. I sanded them very lightly - far less than needed to remove the texture - and decided to just try gluing with weight to press them together. Worked like a charm. If I were to provide any feedback at all, it would be that like 1.5 or 2x the working time would be useful. By most measures, I'd call this glue very thin, but in a context where CA glue is the norm, the manufacturer calling it 'medium bodied' is perfectly apt. A thin coating goes a long way, so this 5oz (?) tube should last me a long time.

You want it stuck... this is the stuff!
It holds plastic parts together. Not instant grab, but it sets up quickly so you aren't holding parts together forever. Extremely fluid though so pay attention because it will come out of the tube extremely fast. You don't need much though and so far it has held all of my monster prints together without fail.

Works well but very messy.
Strong adhesive, and it works very well. However, it pours out of the top and gets everywhere. I could suggest putting it in a disposable paper cup and spreading it on with a toothpick or something similar. I wish it came with a better spout.

Great for 3D prints
5 oz is a LOT of glue for the money. Works better than superglue! Using on my 3D prints daily.

Great for 3D printing PLA
Used for 3D printing, gluing PLA. This stuff works great but it works fast! You don't have a bunch of time to figure out placement once the glue is on. Makes a very solid bond and is clear which is a plus. Would recommend!

Practice on Junk, Get Excellent Results on the Stuff You Care About
Holy cow! This stuff is incredible. I've been CA glue (super glue) on 3d printed stuff with moderate success, but since trying this, I'll never go back. I've used it on PLA, PETG and ABS with great success. Like others have mentioned, it can be a bit of a learning process to manage its consistency. Try it on something you don't care about first. But once you are familiar with its properties, it's phenomenal. I've glued together parts, cracked prints, plus non-3d printed things, like a friend's broken pot lid handle. Clamping for 24 hours is my go-to, though I'm not sure that length of time is necessary. However, it seems to be working out great, so I'll stick with it. I made a reusable straw holder for my dishwasher that cracked along print lines when I pulled it off the printer bed. I glued along the crack, clamped it, and it's been working like a champ in the dishwasher, even with extra-hot washes and heated drying cycles. 10/10 will be buying this again when I run out...though it seems like one tube is going to last for years.
