Q: is this a acss retical ?

Ins't that ACSS reticle property of Primary Arms Company? I would imagine it is the Bindon Aiming Concept reticle as well as the standard BDC. Fine print. Trijicon's web page.

Q: My Acog has a canted reticle, about 5 degrees. That's looking at it before it is mounted. Is there a trick so that when it's mounted it's level?

I agree with Harold to send it back if the reticle is not level but I'd make sure it's not the mount that's the issue if you haven't already. The good news is when you get it worked out, you won't be disappointed. Best optic I've ever owned.

10-12 years is what I think the manual said.

Q: Can this type of acog be used on a .308 rifle

Reticle is made for 223/556. You can zero it in with a 308 rifle but hash marks won't be true when using for bullet drop.
