LEGO Creator Expert Mini Cooper 10242 Construction Set

I liked that the original packaging was intact - this is always a risk when buying a discontinued productI’ve looked for this for some time and I’m looking forward to building the kit 😊

Beautiful and great "creator lego" set..Love it

The 007 Aston Martin was very fun to build and this was close to being as fun but not as fun but still fun build. LEGO needs more of these creator sets, they are so detailed and well designed. Was missing parts to attatch inner door panel tiles but will get replacement sent out soon. I buy a lot of LEGO sets and this is first time a set was missing a few parts. I just improvised to proceed with build and finished it tonight.

I had a blast putting this together--I never really played with Legos as a kid, but now that I'm heading into Seniorville I'm ready to make up for lost time! This was my first kit and although it is labeled "expert," I didn't have any trouble with assembly. It's like putting together furniture from that big Swedish store that starts with an "I" and ends with an "A"--only without the back pain afterwards <grin>. So if that sounds like something you'd enjoy, by all means give one of these kits a try. I've got my eye on the VW camper next, but I really wish they'd release a teardrop trailer kit....

As a Mini owner and recent Lego fanatic, this was a 'must have.' I've assembled over 20 Lego kits and this was the first one with a problem - the wrong windscreens. I phoned Lego Customer Service and the correct bits arrived in the post in a few days at no extra charge so can't really complain. Appreciated the choice of registration stickers: UK - the original Mini; Germany - BMW now makes the Mini (that's 'D' for Deutschland); Denmark (DK) presumably for Lego; Australia (Canberra); or US (Connecticut) presumably for Lego's US offices.

I am an AFOL who purchased this for his wife. I wanted to get her into LEGO and she loves these sets. This one is not too challenging for her but also not too easy as to be over in an hour. It also looks sharp on a shelf!

Fantastic!!! I'm an owner and I appreciate Mini's. This classic is well worth the build. It was a pleasable 3 hours of fun. All the pieces are there. I'm reminded every time I look at it, at the fun I have driving this vehicle. I have a 2015 Mini Cooper and love it! Mine is Grey, with a black top and strips. I regretted not getting this sooner. What the heck was I waiting for?

Other reviews have said that the windshields are incorrect in some of the kits. Mine was. No big deal though. I emailed lego and they sent the correct ones along with an apology. I still love it though! Great details are in this mini cooper, I especially love the spare tire under the trunk! Missing or incorrect pieces have never happened in any of the other lego kits I've gotten in the past, so I will let this one slide...
