Choo-Choo-Choose This One! The Step2 Deluxe Canyon Road Train & Track Table - A Timeless Hit!
As a parent who’s navigated the wonderful, chaotic world of kid's toys, let me tell you, finding something that truly captivates and endures is a rare gem. The Step2 Deluxe Canyon Road Train & Track Table is exactly that kind of gem. Setting it up was a breeze – seriously, even for those of us who dread assembly instructions, this was a win. But the real magic? This table became an instant hit with my two middle children. I’m talking hours, daily, of imaginative play. They loved it so much that sharing became… well, let's just say it was a learning experience for them! The durable plastic construction truly holds up to enthusiastic toddler play, and the built-in track design sparked endless adventures for their cars and the included train set. What makes this table a standout isn't just the immediate joy it brings; it's the longevity. This isn't one of those toys that gets forgotten in a week. It genuinely lasted for years in our home, providing countless hours of entertainment. In fact, if we’d had the space to keep it once they outgrew it (a common dilemma for us "super-parents" with overflowing toy rooms!), I bet it would still be going strong today. My youngest even missed out on this particular phase, and honestly, I feel a little bad about it! If you’re a parent looking for a classic toy that will ignite your children’s imaginations, encourage independent play, and truly stand the test of time, this Step2 train table is absolutely for you. It's a fantastic investment in fun and creativity!

So glad we found this!
Like most of the reviews you will read here, mine is also in favor of this product. I stumbled across it before last Christmas. My 2 year old would throw his Thomas tracks often, sometimes hurting one of us. I was so excited to see how durable this train track was and had tracks that stay bolted down. I thought he wouldn't like this, but he didn't mind at all. He even climbs on it and it still holds his 32 pound body weight. We have kittens that climb under the tunnels and watch the trains, which is fun too. We use the battery operated Thomas trains that seem to work fine on the outer edge of the track. They have a hard time on the middle track, since they are larger they won't turn the corners well. He uses all sorts of match box cars and trains on the tracks. Sometimes he will take bouncy balls and roll them off the hills. There really is so much to do with this track. We haven't put the lid on it yet to use it as a table, my son likes the track open at all times! So, when they get older it will be a drawing table I'm sure. This is really a great deal for the money if you compare it to other tracks.

Die-cast Chuggington and Thomas are a good fit
Our boys love this train table and have had a lot of fun with it. Assembly is pretty straight forward but you will have to install stickers and the bridges. I have read some reviewers comment their trains did not fit well in the channels but I can verify that the die-cast versions of Chuggington and Thomas do fit very well and flow easily around corners when attached to one another. Pros + Great for die-cast Chuggington and Thomas, Hot-Wheels/Matchbox cars too! + Doubles as a play table + Multilevel keeps it interesting Cons/Considerations - Sticker installation can be frustrating but if it isn't perfect, he/she probably won't notice - Bridges and connecting pieces may pop off or free if too much pressure is applied or if it is pulled on. - If freed connecting pins could pose a choking hazard for smaller children - Simple design layout may become boring to older children I would recommend this toy for children up to age 4, depending on your child's individual taste they may want a table with more features. Our 5 year old son has lost interest but our 2 year old loves it! I hope this info has been helpful

Perfect Small Toddler Train Table!
I purchased this train track for my son at Christmas and it was the biggest hit! He's 18 months old and the perfect age for this table. I love that the track is built into the table, so I don't have to keep putting a track back together all the time or have pieces thrown all over the house. This is definitely the first toy that has held my son's attention for long periods of time and he will play and play with it. It's really a great toddler train table. Assembly wasn't bad at all - with the exception of the stickers. I wish that the stickers were already on the track when purchased; however, you get a big sheet that gives you the detail on where to place them on the table. That's ok - if you are not OCD like I am. It was sticker hell. I ended up cutting several pieces of the layout (especially the long curved pieces) in order to lay them down without wrinkles in the track. Otherwise, the bridges just pop in with little plastic darts and the legs snap into place. The legs to come with screws to secure it into place, but I left them out so that I could easily take the legs down and put the table away if needed. I will also say that the recommended wooden train set that Amazon shows to buy with this product should not be recommended. I bought this Orbrium Toys 12 Pcs Wooden Engines & Train Cars Collection fits Thomas, Brio, Chuggington set when I bought the table and it's really awful as a paired product. The trains are too tall to go under most of the bridges and that's just frustrating to my child. The Thomas Take and Play trains work really great with this table - size is perfect. Also, the matchbox cars work really well with this too.

... waiting room at a dentist office and my kids loved it so we decided to get one
We originally saw this table in a waiting room at a dentist office and my kids loved it so we decided to get one. I ordered it and when it arrived, one of the bridges would not fit. I thought I was missing a bridge (like there was another smaller size bridge that I did not receive). I called the manufacturer and they said that cold weather makes the base shrink and I would have to return it for a new one. The second one came and it was even worse. I finally just took an x-acto knife and trimmed it until the piece fit. Everything else about it is perfect. The stickers are very easy to put on, and if you don't get it right the first time, they come right off to correct it. The trains that come with the set are cheap and plastic, so we bought a couple of wood train sets to go with it. Any train set fits. It would also fit for matchbox cars, which I think we will also get for it. It has a helicopter landing pad and lots of areas for trains to go around. It is nice because it is not a ton of pieces that can be taken apart and lost. Also when you are done, it have a cover to turn it into a table while all of the trains are stored below. As long as you are willing to do a little trim work as needed, this table is worth it. I know my kids will play with it for years. (I got it for my 2 year old, but my 5 year old also always plays with the one at the dentist office). This is a Christmas gift so they have not seen it yet.

So much better than a traditional train table!!!
Being a mother to 3 boys of varying ages, I consider myself something of an expert on this topic. My youngest who just turned 2 is in the train phase, and I thought long and hard about whether or not to purchase a train table for him. Our older boys had wooden train tables that took up a lot of space, and didn't get used all that often. But I found myself thinking of a train table this time around (almost against my will), because of the mess of tracks and trains I was continually tripping over. So the research began and it brought me to the Step2 table. This table absolutely exceeds my expectations. 1. It's compact without feeling small. Some of the train tables on the market are obnoxiously big.. 2. It provides a nice built-in track system that can't be torn apart by your toddler. (a HUGE deal for me.) 3. The cover allows for a fairly nice sized track to be set up on it if you do want to use your tracks. (This was important to me because we have amassed a nice collection of wooden railway items that I still wanted to be able to use. 4.You can store your trains underneath the lid when not in use. Our toddler has played with this a ton since Christmas, and mommy' s patting herself on her back for making such an inspired purchase. A Few things to know: The table is a very sturdy plastic, and will stand up to a lot of abuse, but we have found that our toddler can very easily slide it around on our laminate flooring. I will have to address this by placing a mat in this area. The other thing is that the table is the perfect height for toddler climbing...our guy gets into it every time he plays with the lid off (lid on doesn't seem to present the same temptation for him...). Just some things to know, but by all means don't let it deter you from buying this table. It really is SUCH a great and versatile product.

The best solution for vehicle-obsessed toddlers!
I purchased this for my 16 month old son who loves trains more than anything. Angels are singing from the heavens!!! No more tracks falling apart! And my son is so happy and engaged with this toy, it's what we have both been waiting for. He will play with this so long on his own that I can even unload the dishwasher without his "help." I like that it also has roads for cars, it is a one-stop vehicle lover's paradise. I also like that the roads and tracks have many levels, tunnels, and bridges built in-- keeps things interesting so that even my 11 and 10 year old sons enjoyed some pretty cool momentum experiments with hot wheels cars. :-) It is not as stylish and family-heirloom-looking as the expensive wooden tables, but oh well-- the khaki and red matches my family room, and it is such a fantastic deal for the price that I can't complain at all. And it's got a smooth fiber-board cover so you can put all the trains and cars inside and use the table surface for something else. My older kids did shrinky dinks on it this morning. I recommend this to everyone who has a train-loving kid and a modest budget, you will not be disappointed.

Playroom must have!
I bought this table for my 2 year old daughter when she was 18 months...at that time, I left the legs off of the table so that she could get to the tracks, easily. I have a son that is 6 months old, and I know this will be a wonderful toy for him, too. My daughter loves putting the Cars character cars, and Thomas trains on this table, as well as Little people on the streets and in the sticker grassy area. One day I came in and she had all of the Noah's ark animals spread out on the table in the sticker areas and told me it was the 'zoo, zoo, zoo'. Complete with a Zoo, Twain (train). We use this table for all sorts of art, as well. It is the focal point of the playroom. I had my husband buy a can of that chalkboard spray paint, and asked him to spray the underside of the white cover (it is brown) with the chalkboard paint. It totally worked, and now my daughter has a place to draw pictures with her chalk. We love it. Every kid that comes over is obsessed with this table. Including her toddler friends and older...that have expensive Thomas sets, etc. It is just a fun table to get the creative juices going. When the kids are older, we may get a wooden train set, however, I doubt it will be one that comes with a table. Instead, The kids can use chalk to draw backgrounds, and simply build the tracks ON TOP of this table. Win win, for everyone. Last, this table sits across from my daughters play kitchen. We have chairs around it, and she puts her stuffed animals in the chairs, and SETS the table for them every morning before she whips the cover off for train time. This is a wonderful toy for a playroom and it is so easy to clean up...dump trains and cars in, and shut the top. Perfect toy for toddlers.

time suck! in a good way
i bought this for my toddler (20 months) because it looked like a good investment and geez was it ever. since buying this track table we have moved 2 other large items (gym climb set/ ball pit) out of our dwelling space. this table provides oodles and oodles amount of entertainment for my boy. it's rewarding seeing him figure out how the track works :) he does like to climb ontop of the table sometimes which is fine (he is 35 pounds) it is very sturdy. hot wheel cars - the standard usual ones will fit on this track no problem. my boy loves his mike wazowski speeding over the race track one thing i didn't realize was i was going to have to put the stickers on the table myself - and there's no room for error. you have to get the angle just right!! the stickers are amazing quality and don't rip if you misplace them; even sticking it. just pull back what you need to restick and it'll be fine. it feels like more of a gift that i was able to customize for him by putting on the stickers

Love it!!
great set!! No small pieces so it was great for my 1.5 year old, and it's plastic so you don't have to worry about it breaking up easily. Assembly was easy with drill.. had to start some holes ourselves but with a drill it was not bad. Great for a table also for our kids to colour on. Love this product and would definitely recommend.
