Not Quite Livingstone I Can Only Presume....
Well over the many years I have known Stanley products I suppose the most popular product you would ever associate them with would be the Stanley Knife, which is without doubt a quality product. Though I have to say when it comes to Ratchet Sets such as this one, it's certainly not that hard to distinguish that the quality has gone downhill quite a bit by their standards. But in making that statement I have to confess that I have never purchased a Stanley Ratchet or Socket Set before, though I have had ones in the past that cost half the price of this thing that are way better quality and way better constructed and built to do the job with better efficiency by a long shot.I would even go as far as to say that the plastic they actually wrapped this set up in is made of better quality and is tougher than old boots to get through, and you may even break several tools trying to get at the damn thing LOL. I even think it would be a lot easier to break into Fort Knox with how they have packaged this product, and it took me longer to get at the damn thing than actually do the job I brought it for in the first place :))))).The actual Ratchet itself is very small and the first thing I noticed is that none of the actual Sockets locked in place when you put them on the Ratchet. The only way you could use the thing at first was to simply put pressure on the ratchet and socket and hold it against whatever nut you was tightening up or loosening. I brought it to move my TV Wall Plate further up the wall having just purchased a bigger TV. Despite the socket not locking into place I did manage to remove the 6 bolts from the wall plate. It was not until I had moved the wall plate and started to put the bolts back on and tighten them up, that the socket actually latched into place. As with any ratchet set the sockets lock into place on the ratchet via a ball bearing, and it must of took a bit of time for the ball bearing to wear in so the socket finally locked into place. But the set also comes with extension bars to which none of them actually fit the ratchet at all, and are totally pointless. Honestly I have never seen such a shambles in how they put this set together. I was just grateful that I did manage to get the job done though I doubt very much you would get that many more jobs done with it, and it is absolutely inferior in relation to any ratchet set I have had in the past.If you are looking for a ratchet set I would advise that you avoid this one. I am sure any one of them for about a Tenner is way better than this, and Stanley have really put their name to shame with this bit of kit I will say. I gave it 2 Stars because I did manage to get the job done. But if I have any more jobs in the future I will buy another Ratchet Set simply because this is just not good enough I am afraid.

Stanley tools have gone down in quality.
It's a nice little kit .... ok when trying to open the product i destroyed a pair of scissors as it came in clampshell type plastic which would not cut properly then when i finally managed to get it out i cut myself on the plastic, the quality of the metal wouldn't be what i would expect from stanley however i should have made sure i had the sizes right before purchasing as i actually required sockets in 15mm 16mm and 17mm for working on a bike wheel which the kit didn't come with, the kit feels cheap i actually could have bought a cheap kit the same for a tenner less however i decided to go for the brand name and have been left with a kit that feels like a cheap knockoff.

Decent little set
Not a bad little socket set. Perfect for tinkering with the car or mower. I bought it to change the battery on my Peugeot 3008 which has difficult to access bolts. The 2 extensions put together did the job. Compact set - did the job nicely.

Alright for the price
Just needed a small kit for occasionally working on my car. These were cheap but by a good maker. I managed to do the job I needed them for but they have a very spindly feel to them and the first time I used them the plastic handle on the ratchet came loose. I have used them again for removing my car battery and again they did the job but don't feel very substantial. I would suggest spending a few extra pounds on a more heavy duty set.

Good little kit.
Great item. Am moving house, tackles most jobs with ease. Comes in a heart-shaped plastic package which is hard work getting into!

Good small set of sockets for the amateur user.
Bought just to go into my car toolbox as I got fed up with the mix of odd sockets that were in the box and most of which fitted nothing. Nice small set at a decent price, very good for the occasional use.

Perfect for any bike mechanics workshop.
This set is perfect for any budding bike mechanics workshop. It's even small enough to carry in your backpack or pannier bag. Especially when on a cycle touring holiday or challenge ride. It may be a little extra weight to carry but it should cover any mechanical breakdown or roadside repair.

Not fit gorbputpose
Brought because it was a brand name but the quality is not of merchantable quality, with ratchet breaking at first use and I would not recommend this to anyone.
