Will it bond metal to gemstones?

Not if you're talking about Infinity Gems and Gauntlet. No CA adhesive is necessary as the gems will attach themselves on a quantum level to to gauntlet. Take care, however, as once placed no amount of solvent will detach gems, so I recommend using worthless gems like diamonds for a 'fit 'n finish' test.

does the accelartor leave marks on the wood? Using it for picture frames.

No, the accelerator did not leave marks on the wood when I used it on hardwood stairway handrails to do a return.

Anyone use this to fill a gouge in a bowling ball?

Bowling balls are usually urethane or polyester resin based. You are probably better off using epoxy for such a repair. JB Weld should work. If the gouge was huge and the bowling ball expensive, you could spring for a polyester resin based product such as what you would use for fiberglass work. Only problem is it would be a bit thin.
