amazing utility -- why did I wait?
I've been searching for a way to have a utility 12V outlet in my truck available while the truck is off -- but only for a while. That is, I'd like to charge my phone for an hour, but if I forget, I don't want a dead truck in the morning. I considered a DIY arduino approach but it's not that simple. And then I ran across this! Combined with an OEM dash switch and external power relay I get exactly what I want: a push of a button access to two hours of power and another tap to turn off. Shuts itself off after two hours. Perfect! After reading the fine manual and watching the videos, programming is easy -- I tried several other configurations as a test for ideas and future purchases. The unit is the size of a postage stamp in a sturdy plastic molding and has a small internal LED to indicate output state. If you need any sort of 12V power timing and logic -- this is your solution.

Working well after performing full reset/re-program. No more squirrels under hood:)
Working well so far. Initially used instruction video to try to program, and followed instructions precisely a few times, but program wouldn't take - It just flashed rapidly instead of programmed on/off times. After locating & performing the full reset steps in the manual the programming took. Used this for DIY under hood pest repellent, like a Rid-A-Rat on steroids, one that would for sure work. After trying everything (sonic, smells, etc) to keep squirrels from building nests under hood of a little-used truck decided to try LIGHT. Have no outside outlet near truck or might have just dropped an LED work light under hood. Needed something battery operated. Anyway this little DIY project is working to keep them away. Used this item to set about 33% duty cycle, 30 secs on 1 min off. Hooked to trunk battery through an inline fuse along with: * two 6641 White 30mm(1.23") 5050 3-SMD 12V Festoon Dome Light LED Bulbs (Amazon) * two ADJUSTABLE FESTOON BASE DOME SOCKET BULB LED UNIVERSAL HOLDERS EMPTY 31-42MM (e bay) * two Nickel (but use Quarter) Size Crystal Clear Round Coin Tubes by Whitman - Twist Off Cap (e bay). Quarter size for easier fit. * ALLPOWERS Solar Battery Maintaner 12V 18W Solar Car Boat Power Panel Charger Maintainer (Amazon) to compensate/keep battery charged. Some wire, solder + wire ties & thin foam to wrap around wire to keep it from making noise @ speed (done after photos). Might seem a bit coo-coo but if you've ever tried to keep mice, squirrels, pests from making nests under hoods of seldom used vehicles you know what I was up against:) This is working very well & unattended to keep 'em away. UPDATE (added photo w/chewed wire): Timer still great. I tried lowering duty cycle to 3 mins off/20 sec on for better solar charger/drain ratio in winter... Bad move. Squirrels are crafty and were smart enough to chew the wire to both lights. Was briefly upset but then impressed & amazed:) Think they're smarter than some coworkers of mine:) So another cleanout, repair of single truck wire they chewed, LED rewire and programing shorter duty cycle.

Perfect for my application (Remote well pump control system)
Used this as a time delay to modulate an R.F. pump control system. On one end I have a radio transmitter that tells the receiving end which is 1/2 mile away to 'send' water. On the transmit end, the transmission, per FCC rules for this frequency, can only last a few seconds and can only occur a specified number of times in any ten minute period. This item was simple to program to modulate the transmission to meet the requirements. On the receiving end, I used it to hold-off the cycling of the pump as the periodic signals came in from the transmitter, thus preventing false triggers and short cycling. If I was designing a similar timer I don't think I could do it any better, smaller, or cheaper than this one. Excellent product.

Neat device, instructions a little vague as to a vital programming step
Very small device, quality wire leads - heavy gauge and insulation, appears to be reasonably weather resistant. #1 advice to anyone unfamiliar with this type of "programming method" - All of the "Functions" with a number next to them, are stored in the device, but in order to use one, you must use the "Select Function" button or something along those lines to load that particular function timing scene #, then you can manually tweak it in the configuration section. Manufacturer page had a "chat now" button (Saturday morning 8 am PST) I pressed the button and was immediately answered, thinking back, I'm not sure if it was an AI chat or not, because it said a few random things in the beginning of the chat session before I even said my question. But after a couple of Q&A we discovered I had updated the firmware to an old version (I simply followed the product drill-down on the mfg. site) They provided a link in the chat to the latest version; I installed that and then was able to select a function # from the menu. Anyway, loaded in the function and tweaked the time a little in the configuration tool and bam, it worked. Neat device, as far as uses, imagination is the limit as far as I understand.

XDP Small Miniature Timer Delay Relay
Needed this for a small project I was working on. Worked well, once I figured out how to program it.

Very flexible timer module
This is a clever system. I bought it with the programmer device. The setup was very straight forward and was easy to configure. I'm still working through the documentation. It is certainly detailed. I've built systems like this before using small uC's to automate things. But, there is always a headache factor in getting ALL of the pieces together. This setup fixes all of that. My plan is to use this to keep the power on to my car radio for a short period, so that it doesn't have to restart when the truck starts or when you turn it from run to ACC. This will prevent the restarting of the radio, the reconnection to the phone, and allow CarPlay to resume the music/podcast/telephone call. Very happy with this.

Very angry seller.
ME: Just bought this and waiting for arrival from Amazon. You should create a tutorial for aftermarket HID systems. The problem is with automatic headlights while engine is cranking can kill an HID system because of power fluctuations. The solution is to delay the power until the engine is on. I know a lot of people looking for this solution. Thank you. SLAVA: So you invision to turn the HiD off during cranking?? ME: I need this to supply power after 5 seconds. The trigger will come from the headlight power source. When power is sensed, wait 5 seconds to supply power. SWITCH -> TIME DELAY -> 5 PIN RELAY TRIGGER - This 5-pin relay is connected directly to the battery with inline fuse. SLAVA: What if driver turns the ignition on and turns the light on but dont start the car for a 10sec? ME: When the engine cranks the voltage fluctuates. It seems as though you don't want to help. I hope what I purchased works. SLAVA: It will not work because you don't know what you want..... ME: Great customer service. Pardon my previous explanations since I didn't fully explain my goal thinking you know something about car electronics with 3rd brake flasher and all. Also you are not asking the right questions nor are you even close to a right suggestion. Are you even reading my emails? It seems you are not since you miss massive keypoints like "KILLS HID WHILE ENGINE CRANKS". Yes seriously,WTF!!! is right. Let me explain, you said "What if driver turns the ignition on and turns the light on but dont start the car for a 10sec?", what response should I have when I said over and over that "KILLS HID WHILE ENGINE CRANKS". These points were brought up from the beginning and every response I had. Here's another kicker, I even let this one slide: Jon, So you invision to turn the HiD off during cranking?? Slava Really??? Seriously??? I want it on after cranking!!! I said that from my original inquiry. OMG, WTF, please read and understand before replying. SLAVA: you one of those idiots who don't understand the technology . you want others to provide you with the full design and help you every step of the way. I'm not here to spoon feed you so for once in your life go to figure this out yourself . Yes, the seller called me an idiot for merely suggesting a training video. I'm sure he will comment on this with full rage.

Good for dashcam control
I used to control a dash cam in my diesel van. In order to prevent the dash cam from seeing the surge from start or glowplug. I used this timer relay to add a 15 second delay to the dash cam turning on. Which is reset when the key cycles.

Did the job
My application was to turn off daytime running lights when the signal light was turned on then turn the DRL's back on when the signal light was cancelled. After several attempts and studying the manual, I got it to work how I wanted. Great little product and great support from TimerShop. Don't forget to buy the programmer too!

These are great. Does not work with a PWM signal directly
These are great. Does not work with a PWM signal directly. Easy to configure; Watch the youtube tutorial videos, they explain everything.
