Review: Awesome so far! - I purchased the 34" version and this thing is huge, I was hoping it would be big and it really is. I assembled it in about 20 minutes without help - the pieces stay nice and tight with the provided hardware. I used a nut-driver for assembly so I didn't need to hold the screws using the provided allen wrench to get them nice and tight. I may replace the included hardware with stainless at some point in the future, but for now it looks corrosion resistant enough. I put a little "Crisbee Cream" (also sold on desertcart)on the inner and outer surfaces - there is some casting residue on the surfaces of the bowl but with proper seasoning over time I think this will become part of the seasoning layer and remain clean to the touch like a cast iron frying pan. Then I put a couple of fire bricks (not concrete, cause that'll explode) and some rebar at the bottom as a make-shift log holder and threw a fire log in there. The heat didn't cause any warping of the bowl and all four feet were nice and stable on my paver patio without any noticeable "wobble". The metal is think, but it looks more like carbon steel than cast iron but you have to treat them the same to keep them from rusting out anyway so it's all the same to me. It does have some scaling and cracks which give it some character but do not seem to affect function. I love this thing so far but I could see some improvements to it in the future: 1. A grill holder (basically a pipe or two welded or screwed to the side of the bowl) for a cooking grill would be a nice addition, but I'll figure something out. 2. It does not come with a spark screen, which would be nice (this thing is so big it's hard to find a screen to fit it for less than $100.00 as a separate purchase - but I'm searching. 3. This is just a beautiful dream, but a stainless steel version would be a magical beast, no seasoning no babying, leave it in the rain, leave the ashes in there - stainless steel don't care.
Review: Light enough I can move it as needed. Contains a nice outdoor size fire. - I really wanted a thick indestructible fire pit but this is all I could find in my price range. I actually like how light it is so I can move it when not in use. I had friends over and we all made hotdogs and s’mores. Worked great. I got the rusty finish but now I think I would prefer the black finish.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does it bleed/stain the concrete?**
A: The bowl does not have drain holes as supplied. I drilled 5 small holes in mine to allow water drain. If it is exposed to rain mine would no doubt stain concrete. The bowl is untreated cast iron and even without drain holes it could drip rusty rain water on whatever surface it sits on.

**Q: can it be converted to use gas logs**
A: It's just a big iron bowl, I'm sure you could. Drilling a hole large enough for a gas line through cast iron would require specialized tools like a carbide tipped hole saw. If you're leaving it outside you'll want to drill a hole in the bottom anyway to let water drain out.

**Q: Can this be used on a plastic deck?**
A: I've used it on my lawn but only after placing a plywood disc covered with aluminum foil.  I would be nervous about using on a plastic deck.   I would not do it without some sort of protection.

**Q: Do the handles get hot?**
A: That's what they make hot pads for. Once you start a fire I would recommend not moving it or you might get burned.

I purchased the 34" version and this thing is huge, I was hoping it would be big and it really is. I really wanted a thick indestructible fire pit but this is all I could find in my price range. I actually like how light it is so I can move it when not in use. I had friends over and we all made hotdogs and s’mores. Worked great. I got the rusty finish but now I think I would prefer the black finish.

I would never describe it as heavy duty, but it's solid enough it should last a while. The bowl is thinner than expected, at only 0.075" (a little more than 1/16"), the welds on the legs are unimpressive, and one of the nuts had no internal threads. It's made in China, at this price point it's about what I expected. I specifically bought this because I wanted something portable and I didn't want to damage my lawn. The first time I used it I only had one 3/4" thick piece of plywood under it and it still burned my grass. The second time I used two pieces of 3/4" plywood under it that had 1.5" of airspace between them (2x4 scraps) and had no damage to my lawn.
