Don't read the 5 Star reviews, they are probably fake, still a good buy for cheapo tablet
I'm a gadget guy, so when I saw 1GB ram 9" tablet, quad core, Lollipop Android, with 6 reviews, all 5 star, I thought I'd give it a try. Paid $59, and its pretty good for the price. My experience with bottom price tablets is that there is always a fairly serious problem. This one is the screen, low resolution and low contrast, looks washed out. BUT there are some really nice things about this tablet as well:PROSVery FAST, impressively so... feels as snappy as tablets costing MUCH more.No bloatware. Many tablets come preloaded with useless apps, many that cannot be uninstalled. This one doesn't. A BIG Thanks to Astro, especially because of the low storage space, I don't want it eaten up with stuff I don't want.Charges via micro USB, some cheapo tablets require a special pin charger.Low costFast WiFi connectionsLollipop androidDid I say FAST, if you want speed at super low price, this will give it to you.CONS:Display. Display.... washed out, low resolution, but usable, color accuracy is fair for bottom tier tablets. Resolution is not "good," it is at the bottom of usable, a little below average, even for a cheap tablet.Camera: actually has front and back cameras, both work, but about what you'd expect at bottom of price level. No way would a photographer, even the most amateur, use this for a photoshoot. Can't be used outdoors at all, even in shade, too dim.Battery life: well, not bad for the price, lasts 4 hours of continuous use. Mild useage would probably go all day before recharging. No option to move apps to microSD card. This is puzzling, since it has a micro SD slot. Mostly moving Apps to SD card doesn't matter much, but since tablet has only 8GB storage, every bit you can save will help. OTOH, the poor camera and poor display probably mean you are not going to be saving thousands of photos or a bunch of videos on this tablet. No hardware volume buttons, adjust volume with soft keys at bottom of screen.I ordered a case that is advertised to fit, but the buttons don't match the case cut outs, not really a con of the tablet, but if you can't get a cheap usable case, you risk breakage more.If you aren't set on having Lollipop, the Kingpad K90 may be a better deal. About the same price, lots of real positive reviews, and while I don't have one, lots of reviews say it has a pretty good display and is fast.UPDATE: I decided I really couldn't stand the dim washed out display, I returned this tablet and bought the 9" Kingpad k90, same price, $59. Screen better, obviously brighter (still not great, but hey, better than the Astro Tab, and 9" for $59). As expected, the Kingpad is slower, but I can live with that.

Works great for what I'm using it for
Works great for what I'm using it for. I bought this to mount on the wall in the kitchen to use as the central controller for my smart home/ security camera project. For this, it works great and is plenty fast enough.Update: 5/18/2016I just took off two stars. Over the past 2 weeks, the tablet has started having major issues. The battery is now discharging while the tablet is plugged in, even when the tablet is "sleeping." The only way I can use is it to leave it completely off and let it charge for several hours. Then the battery drains again, whether it is plugged in or not. Also, the Wifi has started acting up. It routinely shows no wifi signal available, even when it is only a few feet away from the router. It lasted just over 5 months for $60..... I was hoping for at least a year....

GREAT price. Very pleased. Fantastic Value.
I bought this as a gift to an elderly family member and they absolutely love it. GREAT price for what you get. I've bought the cheapest tablet possible in the past and was highly disappointed. I am VERY pleased with how this tablet purchase has worked out. I was able to finally convince a 70+ year old to have internet installed. Now they are even on Facebook and Skype with this tablet. Fantastic value.

The little "tablet" that could...
I bought this tablet Dec 2015 because it was "cheap" and I was really tired of watching YouTube and movies on my phone. Right away the biggest problem was that videos could only be viewed from a certain angle in landscape. I was a little concerned. But once I got use to it I bet I watched hundreds of videos and lots of movies. Last month, July 2018, I tripped over the charging cable pulling it off the table and badly cracking the screen. I still feel sick because I broke it. I would still be using it, it was a great little tablet. But there's a new problem... I plan on buying another one soon and I can't decide between this one with the 9" display or the one with 10.1" display that has a little bit better picture quality... Any suggestions??? 😀

Do not expect to platy games or watch videos
I got this for my wife so she could have something larger than her phone to play games on. She got fristrated with it after a couple of weeks so I tried it out. It won't show videos on netflix, amazon prime is sooo sloooow on this device. My wife's games did not work either. I loaded the kindle app on it, maybe I could use it to read my stories or something. It takes just over a minute to launch KINDLE.NO! back or menu buttonNO! volume buttonsI/O and HOME buttons are right next to each other and you have to flip the tablet over to see which is which. What's the volume set at? WHO KNOWS?!?!?!?!? There are "soft" volume buttons but no display telling you what the current value is."I got what I paid for" - Save up and buy somerhing better is my advice to you.

A good tablet for the price
This is a great little tablet for the price. However it does have some issues (you get what you pay for). The screen is SUPER delicate. One weekend of moderate to heavy use and the screen was scratched to hell. All of the Astrotabs I have purchased have had issues scratching really easily, so DEFINITELY get a screen protector, as well as a case. Also, this tablet is NOT compatible with Square Magstripe readers much to my dismay. I can use the Chip/Contactless reader just fine with it though. If you are strapped for funds, this is an excellent tablet. If you can afford better... maybe go with a more recognizable brand. It will also make finding accessories such as screen protectors and cases a LOT easier.
