Works well, once you figure out what signals are actually available
The TVLInk II is a great solution for those of us with Phonak hearing aids (and their associated ComLink), so that we can comfortably hear TV audio without cranking up the speaker volume to levels that other listeners would find uncomfortable. I haven't noticed any synchronization issues. My problem was figuring out how to get the correct inputs into the TVLink from my sources (satellite TV and Blu-Ray/online sources like Netflix, connected through a Denon 1909 AVR). My Panasonic plasma TV only has audio out via optical SPDIF, which would seem to be perfect with that input on the TVLink II, but after considerable experimentation, I found the TV output was only active when I disabled my Denon system and its HDMI connections (but at least I knew that the optical side of the TVLink worked OK). But the other listeners wanted nice audio, too! I was never able to figure out how to enable the optical output from my Denon 1909 AVR (worst user's manual ever) as the source for the TVLink. After lots of experimentation, the solution was using two inputs to the TVLink: the optical output from my satellite box decoded with a Panlong Digital Decoder, output to the TVLink with a stereo cable; and digital coax output from my Blu-Ray/Netflix player directly into the TVLink. It does a good job of auto-switching between those sources. An interesting little advantage of this setup - when everybody goes to bed but I'm still watching TV, I simply mute the Denon output to the speakers but I still receive audio into my hearing aids. Lots more comfortable and better audio quality than the wireless headphones plugged into the Denon headphone jack.

Does the job
Returned one because it would not pair. Got a new one and it worked great. Discovered that you must be about a meter away for it to pair so the first failure was my fault. Have only used on tv.

Wow! Wish I'd gotten this sooner!
Little did I know what I was missing for the past 3 years. It got harder for me to hear the television in our open floor-plan, so I decided to try the Phonak TVLink II out. It sound just like being in a movie theater! I can now hear all the sounds I've been missing, and the stereo sound is incredible. Although my optical cable didn't work with my TV (even though I got a red light coming from it), I tried the Red/White sound out connection, and it works GREAT! Wish I knew about this sooner.

Great when it works.
I love it and hate it. It ls great when it’s doing its job and I didn’t have to switch back and forth from headphone to hearing aid all the time. But the phonak starts making grumbling or static like noises and then after around 30 seconds to 2 minutes it starts to clear up again. It happens once every hour or so. It’s very annoying

A must have!
Excellent product, was very easy to set-up . I had problems hearing recorded videos and at time live broadcasts. Now every word and sound is very clear, and I am able to watch a program and hear anyone or thing at the same time

Better clarity, short range
Can hear voices much clearer using the TVLink. Almost as good as when I had real hearing. But, blocks out any other room noises such as wife trying to talk to me or dog letting me know she wants to go out (dog not wife). Range is strange and inconsistent. Can go to another room 30 feet away to the right side of transmitter but sitting 12 feet straight in front of transmitter in goes garbled when I turn my body away from TV.

Must have if you're hearing impaired and enjoy TV
This device is superb! I have the regular Com Pilot and it works great. If you have difficulty there is a trouble shooting mode. It didn't work for me on first try. I started with the optical connection and it didn't work. Must be the way I have my TV configured with the sound bar. I ended up using the straight jack into the headphone jack. Works great because it seems I get vocal straight into my ears and I can enjoy the surround sound. I absolutely love this device!
