Overgrown 2862
They have really screwed this router up. Gone is the fantastic Linux operating system that inhabited the 3900 and 2960, and instead they have brought the 296x/286x DrayOS on board instead. As a result, every time you make the smallest change, the router must be rebooted. Now this may be fine if you have a class-c network in a small business office, but when you have 60,000 people on one-hundred different B and C class VLANs and voice networks and global office, you can never easily reboot the internet provider - all of the RCD connections drop and you get 100 phone calls. The DrayOS was never up to this, so why did they do it? Apart from that it is average. The features are OK but it is not that cheap. It has no real packet inspection or anything really useful. It is a good router for routing a of SFP+ fibre connections in and out but the firewall is not good enough for an enterprise roll-out. All in all a bit of a mess.
