Triple Eight Bumsaver Padded Shorts for Skateboarding, Roller Skating, Roller Derby, Inline Skating, Snowboarding and Skiing

Bought these for a friend, found them on sale thankfully. We have been searching for a good pair of skate pants with good padding for quite some time, buying several different pairs and ultimately being unsatisfied. These have padding in all the right places. He has taken a couple slams since purchase and these have minimized the impact and trauma to his hip, which is what we were looking for. They can be washed on a gental cycle and dryed on a delicate cycle, though I normally try to hang dry them so the pads don't fall apart over time. You don't have to remove the pads to wash them, which is a huge plus for me. Was fighting with other shorts trying to remove pads and it was always stressful. Thankfully not these. I recommend these shorts to beginners and advanced skaters that don't want their hips torn up on a slam. Good for concrete bowls and vert.

Been skating for about a year, also I'm old. I wish I had known this product was around before I skated my first ramp. I went down hard on my hip and was left bleeding and bruised. These would have prevented or lessened the injury. They hide pretty well under shorts or pants, they are comfortable and the padding is nice. I wish there was more padding on the tailbone area and in a couple of other crucial spots but it's essential gear. I think I might try some other brands with a different padding set up but they do work, so you won't go wrong. I wear them whenever I'm trying something new or hitting the skate park. Gives me confidence and helps lessen the pain if I do fall.

Although they aren't specifically designed for soccer, that's what we got them for and they work wonders. Often our municipal fields are pathetic dirt patches that aren't much better than hitting concrete. Many of the padded shorts designed specifically for soccer (and pristine grass fields) simply don't offer enough padding for an aggressive goal keeper. We got these in the XS for our young (pint sized) daughter who is a D1 travel team keeper. She was never afraid to hit the ground but would often complain about the bumps and bruises afterwards. With these she says she feels almost nothing - even on the worst fields. The only reason for a 4 rating instead of a 5 is that the waist band is a bit loose vs. the compression of the legs. The legs fit her great, but we end up having to pin the waist band to cinch it in a little more. They also fit perfect under her normal keeper pants and as other reviews have said, you almost can't even tell she's wearing them (even though they look super-bulky in the photo...)

These have been a good friend to an older body. I use them snowboarding and skating and yes they are a bit bulky and kinda like a diaper but they work and don't restrict your movement too much. The pads have a tendency to slip around and I have to pull the entire short up more than I would like but they serve the greater good of protecting my behind. A big plus for snowboarding is you can sit on the chair lift or in the snow and you don't freeze your tail. Haven't tried the other brands out there but for now these have been doing the job quite nicely.

These padded shorts are fantastic for snowboarding. So much tailbone protection.

I like how comfortable it is to wear this while I roller skate. It doesn't restrict my movements at all. I've fallen while wearing this, so far so good. Easy to wash & easy to remove & put back the pads into its designated slots too

I just want some thick padding to protect my tailbone and hips as I learn to roller skate as a 37 year old person. I don't care how I look. These shorts, like the others, seem to try to keep a low-profile, to be worn under clothes. I'm already gonna be falling down a bunch, why would I care if I look like I'm wearing a diaper? Maintaining a slim profile is a silly thing to strive for here because it means the shorts don't actually do what they are supposed to do: protect. Cons: - The padding is like yoga mat material. It might offer a nice seat if you are sitting on a hard surface, but It's not going to really soften and disperse impacts enough to prevent bruising or breaks. - Who is going to fall and hit their quads? Or hamstrings even? There's padding where it doesn't make sense. Padding should be focused primarily on the tailbone, buttocks, & hips. There are spots on the buttocks that are not even padded! The very spots I fall on regularly... - They are see-thru, meaning I *have* to wear them under my clothes as an undergarment. I would prefer if I could just wear these with a t-shirt. This should be advertised. - Super long. They cover my knee caps. Seems unncessary. Pros: - See-thru means breathable. - Some padding is better than no-padding. - Aside from being too long, they do fit okay. I'll probably keep using them, but I'll have to find some way to put extra padding in here. Not super happy with this purchase.

My son skis park and wears these for falls on rails and boxes and he thinks they work great! Comfortable for aggressive skiers - he does flips and crazy things and these allow him to move, yet protect him at same time.

Perfect for youg snowboarder

As an adult learning to snowboard, I wanted to cover my butt for the inevitable falls I would have. After reading a ton of reviews, I found these and they don’t disappoint. While I try to stay in control, these made a big difference when I did fall. As others suggested I ordered the larger size as I was between sizes; happy with that choice. Even bought a second pair for my preteen and she likes them too.
