I have not had an issue with it, as I value my 6 Horner harmonicas and they air out properly. Those flourescent key labels work well with this case also when you are using your harmonicas in the evening outdoors. **Q: Lots said they'd like the cover to stay open. Me too. Can cover be folded back to touch the backside then a large rubber band affixed to keep it open?** A: A large rubber works well. I do it myself. One of the two Velcro straps can also be looped over a corner to keep the case open also. Great case for those wonderful Horner harmonicas! **Q: Does the aroma from the foam insert dissipate?** A: I haven't noticed an aroma. If I did at the beginning, it was not strong.
