At first it was AMAZING......then after a little bit the flame started getting finicky. Tried purging and a couple different fluids, some are picky that way, but no....just got worse. Lock button sticks when flame on...DANGER!....but also sticks when gas only is flowing so, DANGER! Until 2 days ago I just dealt with it because it really really was a perfect flame and level of heat as well as "pointed" heat.....but last night.....lighter no more. Not sure whats wrong with it but its FULL of fluid, go figure. Will mess with it and update with fix if i find one

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  Just received this torch today so this is a short term quick review. The torch came in a nice little box and packed well. It came with a little pamphlet but I didn't bother reading it since this was a no brainer to operate. I included a short video of the function and the size of the torch. I was quite surprised of how far the flame shoots out compared to other torch I had in the past. I measured the flame reach to about 2 1/2 inches at max. Just be aware that mine came empty with zero butane in the chamber. Luckily i had a spare or two of butane lying around. It took less than a minute to fill the device. The torch built is pretty solid. Mine came in black with metallic dark gray. The torch lights up easily and the controls are user friendly. I'd have to see how long this device will last since this was right after unboxing it. Overall a great torch for the price.

My husband filled the lighter with butane and followed the enclosed instructions exactly as shown, but it would NOT light! Tried multiple times, made sure butane was loaded correctly & full, but the only output was a brief flicker of flame. Maybe it's a defective unit. It looked nice and felt very solid, but it DOES NOT WORK! Extremely disappointed.UPDATE: I received a replacement from the vendor and the new one worked very well. The first one must've been defective. The butane was filled as instructed, waited a few minutes and the Voila! it produced a very strong, intense flame while the ignition was held down, or to keep a continuous flame just slide a button on the side. It also can be rotated to a 90-degree angle. I was impressed how well the torch worked and the heat/intensity of the flame. Definitely keep away from little ones! Subtracted 1 star for the initial defective unit, otherwise it works exactly as described. Just keep a can of butane handy for refills, which we haven't had to do yet after multiple uses so far.

Regardless of the numerous reasons one could or would need a lighter such as this, rest assured this is the boss, as alluded to in the name. Very well constructed, and has a weighty feel that makes it feel substantial in your hand. Flame is unbelievable; very resistant to wind and gust with a fairly wide range of height. Buttons and dial feel well made, and fuel fill process takes less than 5 seconds (literally). Yes, the big box stores sell similar items for half or even less, but you get what you pay for, and the look and feel of this piece makes it feel like money very well spent. An awesome, awesome buy if you're in the market for a unique torch flame lighter.

I’ve tried about 5 of the other style Techboss lighters and really like it also. But this one is way better! It’s very nice looking and performs even better. I have an issue with my hands hurting and going numb if I do small, tight movements, repetitively so I buy lighters that have a lock. With other lighters the lock wears out and sometimes completely quits locking, due to the way the button switches off. This lock mechanism is so much more durable and easier to use. Also this lighter doesn’t get as hot as other lighters when in use for a few extra minutes. This is a very nice looking lighter with excellent performance, HIGHLY suggest trying it out. You can’t go wrong with the Techboss warranty, either. This is by far my favorite lighter, ever!!

Easlily the best lighter of it's kind that I have encountered. These are so useful with so many applications around the house or outdoors. I have used many different kinds and brands. This one is the only one I've come across that has every feature you want. The window to see fuel level, a lock to keep flame on without holding the ignition, easy to fill and easy to use. Quick and easy to change the size of the flame without separate tool, a good shape and thickness to hold, and it smoothly rotates between straight and angled. And my personal aggravation about these lighters, the ignition slide is soft and quieter plus the metal used at the flame is made from an alloy that cools quickly! Everything you'd want with a lighter like this. Also it has had a moderate amount of use and is still working perfectly. Even still rotates smoothly! Thanks!.

I like the style and comfortable feel in my hand and flexibility of the rotating head to get into various positions for use, the sight glass to observe the fuel quantity as well as the easy to use on off trigger switch. I primarily use for heat shrink in electronic and wiring projects so simplicity and one handed use are a must since my other hand it usually holding something.Pro-Compared to other torch lighters the where the safety for the trigger switch is much easier to use and with most others I’ve used you have to manipulate in a way where it requires two hands to start.Pro-Good solid feel and rotating head.Pro-Sight glass for fuel level.Pro-Puts out a pretty decent directed flame.Con-The thing doesn’t shut off!!!Con-You have to turn the gas up all the way to get it to light.Con-When turning off you need to add an additional step by turning the gas off to extinguish it since releasing the trigger does not.Con-If gas valve is not completely off, you can hear it hissing which is wasting fuel and above all very unsafe.Ultimately unless support can explain why and resolve some issues, I will be returning because the not turning off when trigger is released as well as the hissing gas coming out when not in use unless gas valve is all the way off is a risk I am willing to accept.
