So, I bought this to test water because everything else had really poor reviews. This is perfect for what I need it for. I think I read a review on this that someone said the temp. showed up too slow; they're lying. Or they have no sense of patience. I only had to "wait" 3 seconds for it to tell me my fish tank was at 77.7 degrees (which I double checked with another thermometer). I love this thermometer. It also comes with a nifty container. That makes it easy to store safely.

I love this thermometer for the price. That said, drunk me likes to clean and I guess drunk me also thought it'd be fine to put this in my dishwasher. It was not fine. Don't put this in the dishwasher. Sober me is buying a new one now.

This thermometer is the ole "you get what you pay for!" I never could get accurate readings from it even though it says it's an instant read. The hold function is intended on holding the temp for you so it stops jumping. I tested it on boiling water, just prior to boil...should be 212 or so, It overshot, and undershot consistently. The display is TINY, the buttons are even smaller. The final straw was the packaging. A plastic tube for storing it. A novel concept, except the fact that the little red / orange rings on the top and bottom are a rubber band material. It gets caught on the inside of the tube when you try and pull it out. After 2 or three times of it catching, I had to try and cut the thermometer out of the tube just to get it out, as it was a the harder you pull the more it gets stuck scenario. When trying to cut it out of the tube the wand bent. Didn't try and get a refund as I had it for a month or so. Lesson learned, if you are an above average cook spend the extra money on better thermometer.

The thermometer came ready to go, battery already inside, so just turned it on & it works great! I'm using it for making yogurt; it's nice to be able to see the exact temp as the milk heats up. The stem is long enough that I don't burn my hand on the pan as I'm using it, also

I used this thermometer for a Christmas dinner of Prime Ribs (bones removed for later meal). To get the exact color meat you want requires a perfectly calibrated, easy to use thermometer. This thermometer exceeded my expectation. It was fairly priced, packed well (has it's own case), and received one day after ordering.

Arrived on time by UPS. This is a quality instrument to measure cooking temperature. Used last night on Rotisserie Chicken. Instant read, appeared accurate. Well built. Comes in a sturdy plastic case with instruction. Recommend and would buy again.

I would probably like it more if I could get it open to activate the battery!

I purchased this digital thermometer a month ago for making homemade goat cheese, I used it one time. I went to use it for the second time yesterday and I couldn't even get it to turn on. I don't care how much you pay for a product, but it should work longer than one time. I went back in to return or replace it and it said my return/replace window expired Sept. 1. So, I just got screwed out of 13.00. So, please be aware that if you buy it, it might or might not work more than one time
