It's not nice to take cuts
I use this knife sparingly but had it for some months now. It showed up in a nice box well packaged with no defects. It feels good in hand nice weight. I like the texture, shine, and pitch black color. It's like staring into abyss of murderous monkey clowns. I don't know much about knifes but tired of my dull ones fighting the GMO tomatoes thick tasteless skin. It glides through letting the knife do all the work. Took it past a lemon and slid through all the seeds no problem. Took to some really thin slices off too. One thing (and I'm not sure about professional knifes or cutting) the angle feels a little funny to cut strait down. Is there such thing as a left handed knife? Maybe I got one of those. I'm probably doing it wrong. I still love the knife and the thought of murderous monkey clowns cutting off faces and eating them. I'll be seeking psychological help soon. Enjoy Amazon reviews often!

Balanced, solid and razor sharp.
I couldn't be happier with my new Abundant Chef Blaze: 8 Inch Ceramic Chef Knife. The first task for this razor sharp addition to my kitchen was to break down 60 lbs. of boneless pork loin purchased from my local wholesale club. Typically it would take several hours cutting and cleaning the loins, but this knife made short work of this daunting task. I was able to cut the center chops in one slice, fat and silver skin were no match, easily shedding the unwanted layers in one pass. I was even able to break down the darker loin meat following the fat marbling with the razor sharp tip. Like any knife, you have to treat it well, Do not, under any circumstances put this or any other knife, ceramic or not, in the dishwasher. Clean and dry your knives as you use them. The knife is well balanced, well weighted, and seems very solid in my hand. In short I would certainly buy or suggest this knife to anyone.

Beautiful & Sharp
I have owned several ceramic knives, but was looking for a longer one that I could use for carving meat. I chose this one after researching several others, and am very pleased. First, the knife is beautiful with its black mirrored finished blade. It also came nicely package for those who may be considering this as a gift. Second, the handle feels nice in the hand, and allows for good control. It also has a nice metal end cap that adds to its appearance. Third, this knife is sharp. As I said I own several other ceramic knives, but this one is noticably better. I used it to carve the Easter ham, and was impressed with how easily it sliced. If you are looking for a larger ceramic knife for carving, look no further. It also comes with a plastic guard for the blade if you want to keep it in a drawer. Just remember that the care and usage of a ceramic blade are different from steel.

actually very dull. Was not able to get it sharp with ...
Many highly rated reviews for this item, so I may have just received a dud. Arrived not sharp, actually very dull. Was not able to get it sharp with proper sharpener for ceramic knives. Also had chip at blade tip and back of blade had a wavy dip like it was machined improperly. Like I said, with all the positive reviews, I may have just caught a junky one. However, customer service via email with the company was excellent and responses were prompt. Less than stellar knife, but offset by more than stellar customer service to rectify. Lets call it a wash and go down the middle with 3-stars.

Great for lettuce and vegetables
Not quite as sharp as I hoped, and I haven't tried sharpening it yet. I'd heard metal knives will bruise lettuce and cause the edges to brown, but ceramic knives won't. I've been using this knife to pre-cut lettuce for individual salad servings, and after a week in an air tight container (refrigerated, of course) the lettuce still looks great.

After 3 months of use, still working fine, not worried if it will be sharp enough to cut yet.
I don't cook big meals every day, but i usually do chop something up once a day. If i do, i mainly use this knife, still working as i expect. Haven't sharpened it and don't intend to, since i'm not sure i'll do it right. Still sharp enough where i worry about cutting myself when i wash it. It is pretty enjoyable to cut with, compared to some steel chef knives ive used. Haven't broken it yet, but we'll see since i broke my last ceramic chef knife (different product) trying to cut into some lemon grass. That one was a 6 inch, i like an 8 inch size much better.

Good knife
I like this knife but I haven't used it much. The booklet that it comes with suggests using it with a wood or bamboo cutting board. I don't have either yet and I want to get one first before I start using it more. I used the knife to cut up a watermelon and didn't notice any difference from steel knives. I will update if i notice a difference later.

The knife itself performs GREAT, it's very sharp
The knife itself performs GREAT, it's very sharp. However, even though I'd like to give it 5 stars I can't, because the box it came with was slightly damaged, and the knife had several small scratches on it like it was either used by someone for a little while or it was scratched during packaging (the knife was in its sheath, so there's now way it got scratched during shipping). Otherwise, there were no more issues.
