Simply the Best! So quit! Easy to clean!
This is an amazing grinder. I tend to grind 2 tablespoons at a time, and don't want a large grinder. I use it for herbs (black pepper, and other seeds mostly). I was specifically looking for a small grinder for herbs, before I found this. I wasn't really looking for a quiet grinder. I stumbled upon this in my search for a small grinder. Most grinders in this size range are portable, and that's not something I need. While this grinder is small, it's very high quality and very powerful. I have used a lot of grinders and this is by far the quietest grinder, easily 1/10 the noise of other "quiet" grinders. The lid design gives it a double wall with air between when in use. Similar to how a double pain window works, this greatly reduces the noise. The double wall design ensures that no dust escapes the grinder while grinding. I have used this for very tiny seeds, much smaller than pepper, and it does a great job grinding them. The "Vortex" design is great for small quantities as it causes all of the particles to form a tornado-like movement inside the grinder when in use. This gives it a very even grind, as all the particles are thrown around in the vortex, instead of having some sit on the bottom. The power of the grinder is perfect for my use. For my use, it's important that the grinding bowl is metal. Some seeds I grind are very tough and have scratched the sides of other grinders that had plastic bowls. The top is quite high up so it isn't really an issue that it's plastic. On other grinders that had plastic bowls and a plastic top, the tops never got scratched much, but the sides did. On grinders with glass, the glass broke eventually. Never use a grinder with glass parts. It's dangerous. The grinding bowl is easily removed and easily cleaned. This is very important. I've had other grinders that were not so easily cleaned and had parts where particles would accumulate and were almost impossible to clean completely. This is a blade grinder obviously. I have used steel burr grinders, and the main issue is that the burrs slowly wear down after every use (you ingest steel particles from that). Eventually you have to replace the burrs after a few years. If you buy a burr grinder that doesn't let you replace the burrs, you're buying a grinder that you'll throw away in a few years after the burrs ware out. Blade grinders don't have this wear issue nearly as bad as burrs do. I have blade grinders that are over 10 years old and they still work great. I like that the cord can be wound around under the grinder, so that you can extend the cord to just the right length on your counter top so that you don't have a long cord dangling around your counter top. This is a must have feature in my opinion. This also has overheating protection. Another must have feature. If you run it too long, and it overheats, it will temporarily shut down, preventing damage to the grinder. A lot of grinders don't have this feature and will simply be destroyed and rendered useless if this happens. Do not buy a grinder without this feature. A good example of a grinder NOT TO BUY is the CUISINART Coffee Grinder DBM-8P1. The reasons are: burr grinder wears out and you can't get replacements; it's 100% impossible to clean all parts that come into contact with what you're grinding; it is rendered useless if it overheats; it's super noisy; it spits out dust while it's grinding, so you always need to clean up dust after each use. It's just plain awful. This grinder has none of those issues. This is easily the best blade grinder in it's class and is highly recommended.

I Looooooooooooooooove This Grinder!
My American sister recommended this grinder to me, as originally I wanted to use a Morter and pestle to grind spices to make ranch dressing from scratch. My American mom said the morter and pestle wouldn't be a good idea because it would make a big mess on the kitchen counter. Fast forward to November 3, 2024, when I purchased this grinder, which is one of my favorite colors, silver. I opened it up on Thanksgiving Day, and I tried it out for the first time while we were cooking Thanksgiving dinner. I absolutely looooooooooooooooove it a lot! I love the fact that when grinding, the sound is contained within the inside of the machine, and for me, it's basically mess-free. Better yet, whatever I'm grinding won't stick to the sides of the jar. When taking off the jar, though, I have to make sure I'm careful, because it makes the grinds come out the bottom. But I can't complain, and I know this is one amazing grinder! I haven't tried coffee with it yet, as I want to get a second grinding jar for that, as Mom says that coffee would taste kinda strange if there were spices left over in that jar. I also love the fact that this grinder is easy to clean. First time I opened it up, mom said to me, "Please be so careful!". As I am sight challenged, we had to do it together the first time, as she wants me to be safe since the blade is sharp. The speed settings are easy for me to understand, just low and high. I put it on low to grind the spices, as I don't wanna overheat the machine! Grinding parsley, chives, and dillweed didn't take long. Thyme took longer, however, as that particular spice seems a bit coarse compared to the others. I give this grinder a solid 5 stars! How about 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 stars! Update: 3/1/2026, I ordered a second jar for this grinder, and it arrived on 3/23/2026 at 12:32 PM PDT, from Saint James, New York! I can't wait to get something to tell it apart from my Spice Grinder Jar, since that would be hard when you're like me and you're sight challenged, only to discover they both feel the same! I think I'll put a magnet on each one. A circle with a coffee bean inside it for the coffee grinder, and a square with a tea leaf inside it for the spice grinder!

Worked well for 4 years before instability
Bought in 2022 worked perfectly for 4 years, a plastic piece has become worn out and the blade no longer holds in place. Making it entirely unstable. Still though, daily use for coffee bean grinding for that long is impressive. It's quieter than other grinders, blends very well.

Krups does it again
Gifted the grinder to a family member. They love everything about it. Every Krups product I have purchased for myself and others has been top quality.

High quality, but the grind not as good as expected
For the price of this machine compared to other options, I would generally expect it to be flawless. And that is almost the case. However, I found that when grinding spices for a pizza sauce, the resulting powder retained a minimal few seed chunks. This was after running the machine on both high and low for an excessive amount of time to try and get everything. My guess is that the blades are a little too high off the bowl, and their vortex technology doesn’t work quite as advertised. That is just for spices. As of the time of writing, I have not tried it with coffee beans, which I expect would grind more consistently. That said, I’m still going to stick with this model for the long run. I bought it with points, so I’m not as worried about the excessive cost. The main reason I chose this one is that it had a removable canister that could be washed in the dishwasher, and I am very happy with that aspect. Prior to this model, I tried a cheaper version from another brand that was a disaster. Before even using it, I tried washing the canister in the dishwasher and water got stuck between the plastic and metal and wouldn’t drain. No issue with that here, as the canister is all metal and well designed. The other big feature contributing to the price is the quieter grind compared to other models. Though not a priority for me, I’ll attest to to it being much quieter that prior models I have used. The option for two speeds is also a nice touch, though I’m not really sure how important that is in the long run. The last thing I’ll mention is that is is pretty sleek looking. I got the version that is silver and black, and it does not look cheap at all. It is a quality looking appliance. Though I’m mildly disappointed in the grind quality for spices, it still does the job overall and has some sleek features. I’d say it’s a nice splurge buy, though if you don’t care about a removable container or the quieter running noise then getting their cheaper model would probably make sense. That model was highly rated by a cooking magazine I read.

Fast and almost silent grinding
I love the Krups products and this one in particular because of the removable cup which has a larger capacity than my 2 other grinders (they still work perfectly after more than 30 years but I have assigned one to dry herbs and the other to coffee grains) This new one is now used to make flower of grains and seeds: flaxseed and buckwheat mixed to make healthy pancakes 😋 or any other combination…. rice with oatmeal, etc… I can customize my ingredients for specific dietary requirements. Just perfect 👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍🤩

Seriously Quiet
I remember as a child waking up at 5am to the TERRIBLE grinding of coffee beans across the house in the kitchen. Nobody got to sleep in. Gone are those days! I've only used it for a few days so I can't speak to the longevity, but this is what I do know: PROS: Very quiet. It might still wake up someone, but it's so fast at what it does. It doesn't take up much room on the counter. It's easy cleanup (Note the lid cleaning under cons...) The add on lid for covering the unused option is nice. I use this for French press coffee beans and only grind for about 7 seconds (vs their 10 seconds). It goes very fast. Looking forward to trying other things in it as well. We have a 4-cup French press so 4 scoops (= 4 tbsp) fills up almost half of the cup. Be aware in case you want to grind larger amounts. CONS: When trying to scoop out, you have to fight the blade. The main lid has a hidden layer that I can't figure out how to clean effectively. I'll report back if anything goes wrong, but this is where it stands currently. Very pleased!

Died after only 1 year of use - Second in last two years - Don't recommend
Once upon a time, the name Krups really stood out. It meant quality and dependability. I loved to have a Krups product, as I knew it would supply years of service, and it would meet exacting standards for my coffee experience. No longer. This is the second grinder that has quit on me in the last 15 months, same model. The first was after about 2 years, and I had made the mistake of washing the grinding cup, so attributed that to my own poor treatment, even if simply endeavoring to do well. Here, however, I have absolutely babied this grinder. I have treated it with care and according to all specs, and to have it quite on me after only a little over a year, that's simply unacceptable. It is a real shame, also, as I love the grinder. It is one of the few that doesn't make me hate myself while it is running in the early morning, with a loud, clanging racket. Sadly, complete silence of a machine that has quit is not the alternative I was looking for. Product support? Nope. Basically, fix it yourself. Literally, it instructs you to take it apart and lubricate the mechanism within. Seriously? Oh, with machine lubricant, for we all simply have that laying around, right? Once, I would have sang the praises of this grinder, but now not only would I never recommend it, but would not recommend the Krups brand, either. Sad, to see once heralded leaders in manufacturing fall to lower performance standards than Walmart brands.

Highly recommended
Purchased this last minute as the brand name one I had purchased from the grocery store was broken right out of the box. It has been working great over the last month! Grinds the coffee perfectly, the removable canister makes it so easy to clean, and the lid for keeping extra grounds fresh is an added plus. Would HIGHLY recommend this. Only critique I might give it is that the plug-in is not very long, maybe 2ft? Doesn’t affect the performance but did make it a little tricky to have it on my coffee bar.

Does not work in the UK - not meant for UK use.
Do not cut off USA plug (use a 13A / USA adapter to try it first. You will probably need to return the grinder I'd seen good reviews of this grinder and eagerly awaited it's arrival. Ordered from Amazon UK and grinder was sent from Amazon USA (it stated this would come from the USA on the page). On unpacking, the first thing I noticed was that it had a USA plug. OK, this can be replaced with a UK plug, but it may invalidate the guarantee or return. Luckily I had an adapter handy to try it out. As soon as I switched it on, there was severe arcing and sparking from underneath the grinder. On investigation, I saw that the plate on the grinder stated 120v. There is no mention on the Amazon description that the voltage is 120v instead of the standard 240v. I don't know why Amazon are selling it on their UK site when it can't be used in the UK!

Warum wird bei der Bewerbung nicht darauf hingewiesen, daß der Stecker nicht für Deutschland geeignet ist. Die Rücksendung erübrigt sich. Unverständlich!
