SOLAREX 5X Magnifier Lamp

This is not a true magnification item and is made of extremely cheap plastic (with lines throughout the lens). Purchased this as I am legally blind and wanted to utilize what little vision I have left to be as independent as possible. Instead, I gave it away to a sighted individual.If you have any low vision issues, I would not purchase this product.

Bought for my 88 yr-old mother, not happy with it .The lens is mad out of plastic she was unable to get it in focus.It may not be all the magnifiers fault but even I saw line from the plastic lens as it magnified.

I have had this lamp for a month and a half and I have been satisfied with it until today... That lamp contains 12 led's and today 3 of them began to flicker which is extremely annoying and it would not stop. My only remedy was to block those led's with electrical tape which diminished the effectiveness of the lite. Now if this can not be rectified the lite becomes useless to me. So as of now I would NOT recommend this purchase.

While the size of the lens is great, and the quality and weight of the base is also, the magnifying lens itself is very poor quality. It's plastic with rings from the center to the edges that distort everything. If you view a white paper through this lens, the entire outside edge of the paper has a neon blue glow to it because of the distortion and nothing is clear. Enlarging the view is not enough. The view must be clear. My glass magnifier which cost half the price I paid for this one is crystal clear. I was hoping for similar from this item because I wanted a larger viewing area when drawing details in my artwork, but it's better to have a tiny viewing space that is crystal clear than a huge viewing space that is blurry due to poor quality of lens.

Too fuzzy to read by, with the Fresnel lens-- I am going to send it back if I can. Get the glass lens one from First Street. It is too tall, and the lens does not swing out far enough, but at least you can read text.

great work amazon, your products are excelent qulaty. the lamp works great. when your vision is 20/100 this make reading extremely more enjoyable nd easier.
