Very good idea. Bought a very expensive glass induction hob and was a little concerned it would rapidly get scratched up. Saw this product and it’s just the ticket. Cut to size, nice and durable, washable, and provides excellent protection to the hob.

The size was great and fitted my induction hob perfectly and I was able to cut to shape so that the controls were visible. However, this product is a nightmare to keep clean. It is a mesh which is obviously composed of lots of small holes. Food gets in these holes and then seeps through to the glass hob itself meaning both the hob and protector need cleaning each time. Wiping often does not remove all of the food and even when you think its clean it dries and you realise it wasn't. I find I have to fully immerse it each time in hot soapy water and leave it to soak. I then need to shake it out and put it outside to dry. This is not convenient. For the price and given that it is a lakeland product I would have expected better.

Yes, an induction cooker will work with this protector on the hob. It does a great job at stopping scratching and looks good. The protector has not stained, torn or burnt in regular use. I advise that you cut the protector to reveal the hob controls. The lights on the hob display can be seen through the protector. However hob locations are not visible and have to be estimated. This is not really a big problem. The only downside for me is that I am a messy cook and some food always spills out of my pan. The protector mesh retains the big bits. Everything else goes through the mesh and under the protector. Therefore a bit of a pain to clean up. As it’s a big mat I usually end up washing it down under the shower. Cleans up great. I just wish it was a solid mat so I could wipe it off in one go. Clear silicone would be even better but nothing like that looks to be available at the moment. Get it and enjoy. But, be a very tidy cook.

Bought this product because I got a scratch on my new induction hob even though I was very careful when using my new pans on it. I can cook with the cover on so my hob never gets scratched now. Just a wipe clean after use. I was so pleased I bought another cover to put over my hob as a protector when not in use. The original I keep with my pans & use it solely for when I’m cooking.

Had this 2 months fraying despite being really careful, also now not lying flat on hob...poor product from lakeland expected better
