Sturdy arm support perfect for the Shure SMSB
I bought this hoping it would easily carry the Shure SM7B mic as it is quite a heavy mic. And it does with ease. It’s super easy to setup and cones with both a screw plate and a clamp mount. The arm is easy to turn and reposition as needed. Because it is quite a chunky build with its hidden ergonomics design, it has space for putting logos of sponsors on. It also comes with a built in XLR which is also good quality. It’s also fairly easy to take out and insert a new XLR cable if needed.

Professional quality
I used to use a cheap boom arm with external springs. It was quite light, and the connections were poor quality. I did some research (mostly YouTube reviews) and the Gator Frameworks boom arm looked like the one for me. It is far superior to my original cheap boom. It's longer, quieter, sturdier and looks better. It has an integrated XLR cable, which is great because I was about to spend €20 on another cable. It comes with 2 desk mounts - one is a C clamp, that's the one I'm using, and it's very solid. The other is circular mount that screws into the desktop - long screws are provided. I haven't used it but I'm assuming the quality is as good as the rest of the kit. Overall, this is a high quality mic boom arm, well worth the money in my opinion.

Great stand after initial setup
The lack of instructions were surprising for a premium stand at this cost, but after setting up, the stand feels robust. Pairs well with the Shure SM7B microphone, and the integrated XLR cable is handy. No complaints about the build quality.

Not as deluxe as I had hoped
Not high quality. It wobbles on the base because the peg is smaller than the hole. You can really clamp it down hard to stop the wobble (somewhat) but then you can’t pivot the boom. It’s supposed to pivot, so you have a choice - put up with the wobble or don’t allow it to pivot. Desk clamp is overall not sturdy enough. There is also too much slack cable sticking out of the end so you end up with an untidy mess near your mic which defeats the purpose of routing the cable internally. I’m disappointed.

Major Design Flaw
Major Design Flaw: Cables can be temperamental. I brought this & was experiencing feedback problems for months. Checked to see if it was a faulty wire by trying a different one & I was correct. So I go to get rid of the old wire to then find out you can't. It's trapped in the mold of the plastic, with no means of access. You'd have to use scissors to cut the wire to thread it out but they've also made it impossible to put a new one in. So your new wire has to run outside of the arm, which partly defeats the purpose of why you brought this thing in the first place.

Perfect!
This is perfect for SM7B Mic. I would say it’s tailored for SM7B. Sturdiness is what matters as the mic itself is quite heavy so the desk mount does the job perfectly.

Great mount…
Not cheap but certainly the mount to have for the SM7B. You might as well buy this first rather than last. Looks the business too. Great quality and very pleased with it.

Completely broken after five months, no option to return or repair!
I use this boom arm for a weekly podcast. After just five months, there was a seriously loud feedback noise and as the cable runs through the centre of the boom arm, I can't replace the cable. Very annoying and disappointing not to be able to get help!
