largest leap in headlamp tech in years!
Extremely versatile and rugged. I feel like this was an incredible value and possibly priced to get people to buy into a new system that should be around for a long time. It’s just got so many different uses and mounts. I’m very reliant on red light as to not ruin my night vision while operating small aircraft at night. I can wear it on my head or hang it from the center of the interior. I can slap it in a bike or make it my dome light in a vehicle. It feels really well built and the different mounts come with it and are sturdy. You can tell. I have been around so many different brands and professions that use them extensively and thoroughly. Hard on equipment. Princeton tec has long been a favorite and I’ll say they last much longer and put up with rough use better then anything else I can find , Even the industrial marketed stuff. The multi color allows people in the field to distinguish eachother by different colors. long standing practice has been to look at the boots of someone your talking to while wearing a head lamp or turn it off to preserve night vision. The red light allows for a better interaction since we don’t blind one another. I’m pretty sure the blue light illuminates genuine cash and helps spot counterfeit pretty quickly. Also any UV DYE you may use which is priceless. Makes for quick work. This exact headlamp could potentially dominate the market. There was already a similar model out that was mil issue and very popular. This improved on it dramatically. I’d like to know what kind of feedback they recieved to create this. You must get one. The price is ridiculously low for what you get and the quality of what you get.

Made in the USA, magnetic detachable head
I love these headlamps. The only ones Made in the USA. They are detachable from the headband, and easily removed/replaced, magnet is attached to both the lamp and the band attachment, so you can stick this to anything where a magnet will stick. It has red, green, and blue lights that allow you to turn it on without loosing your night vision, a 2 second press from any of the R G or B lights will turn the very bright LED. This uses 2 AAA batteries that are easy to get out, and it is very light. I really don't have anything bad to say about these, as a matter of fact I now own 6 of them, one for every member of my family and a couple of extra for my spare box. I have on e hanging from the back of my concealed carry bag with the supplied carabiner loop, so that I have a light when I need one. It comes with a couple of very strong rubber band loops to hook it to any small post / handlebar etc....

Why is this headlamp so highly rated??
To start this is the most uncomfortable headlamp ive ever worn!! Hands down!! And im an avid outdoorsman, so ive burnt through a few headlamps. This headlamp is really pretty heavy as compared to most now days. Its so bulky and awkward to use, all the pics make it look really small and compact, but they are so misleading!! The button configuration to start is awful. Here is the order Red-Green-Blue all in sequential button tap order, then when its on any of those colors if you hold down the button it finally goes to bright white light. Which it does have pretty good brightness, but its def best for closer up work nothing very far. Then if you let go and push again it does the highest white light down to lowest white light and so on back up and down which is nice to have. And the colors are fairly bright. The run time is pretty close to correct depending on the type of batteries you use. The detachment part is very handy with the magnet on the butt end of the light is pretty strong. For me this is a STRONG DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Too complicated
I actually had to read the directions to find out how to turn the white light on. The white light is the reason I wanted a head lamp.

Great flexible and functional headlamp
This is a very functional and flexible headlamp. It is relatively light and the head band is comfortable for hours of use. I have primarily used it for working on my vehicles and during projects in my home. While working on my vehicles, I have found it especially useful to detach the head and use the magnet to hold it in place to focus on the area where I am working. The overall brightness is more than sufficient for task work, and the adjustment of the intensity works well/intuitively. Having the RGB option allows me to use a specific colored light to perform work, read maps, etc. without impacting my night vision. The option of other than a red is great for reading maps where using red can often not allow you to see certain details. One opportunity for improvement would be to allow the user to start off with the white light, as it always for me starts off as the red light and you have to press-and-hold to move to white light.I did not use this for running, but it does seem that it might move due to the weight being only in the front and the use of a single band. These days I do believe many night runners might have an expectation for a brighter light with a longer throw. That said, I find the Princeton Tec Snap great for use as a hiking, camping, or task light, and highly recommend it.
