When I seen this I was glad i ran into it. I'm always having a problem with either my Bluetooth buds dying and the dilemma with my phone needing to be charged and using my wired earphones. Well I'm glad now I can Do both. The charging time was not affected using this adapter which is a plus. The sound quality is also NOT affected using the adapter and sounds like if its directly plugged into the phone with No static. My wife has the same phone and sometimes runs into the same issues and I will be getting her one as well. What I also liked is that I have a complete phone protective case and this plug fits in the case with no problem of cord modification. The adapter seems pretty sturdy and doesn't have any cheap, thin dangly wires and feels it can hold up for a while. Overall I think this is a solid piece and would recommend to anyone with the same issues. It's a good back up adapter to have.

This adapter works well. I'm happy with my purchase. Edit: I've had it for a couple of months now and it still works well! Things I have noticed: 1. While USB-C connectors are not usually directional, it seems this adapter is directional. It doesn't seem to work correctly if I plug it into the device the wrong way. I find that it's connected properly when the speaker output is on the right side and the charging port is on the left side (when looking at the phone). 2. Once in a while, the sound output won't be transferred to my headphones if I plug them in when I'm already playing music through the phone speakers. But it will work if I pause the music and then hit play again. I'm guessing this may be a device issue and not an adapter issue. I hope this info might help users who encounter issues with the adapter!

If you are looking to be able to share a USB C port for both charging your Mac AND wanting to route audio, say from music playing, to an external source, THIS is the item for you. That function was correct. The item is constructed well and worth the price IF this was your need. I you wanted it to be a pure port duplicator it isnt one. Say if you wanted to attach an external monitor AND an external drive to the same port on your MAC, this ISN’T what you want. I actually bought it as a easy way to send the output of a Blackmagic video switcher to both a monitor AND a recording drive since the switcher only has ONE USB C port. As this device DOES actually route some port connections to one output and different connections tot he other it is NOT a true port splitter. Given it DOES support the original purpose it describes Im keeping them (I bought 2) as I may have need to have my Mac powered whil utilizing the same port as a music )headphone/line) output while my only other may be connected to an external drive with all the music files on it. So an excellently manufactured for the specific use they sell if for, just dont expect all connections on both outputs to act identically, its not wired that way.

This product works exactly as advertised. I wanted a usbc splitter that I could use to charge my phone and use headphones at night and this does both with no loss of charging speed or sound volume/quality. What a great find! Both ports are maked so figuring out which one is for headphones and which one for charging is easy. My only complaint would be if i unplug the charger half but keep the heaphones in audio stops, but after a moment will continue. I believe this issue has to do with the splitter taking a moment for the phone to register so when the power supply is removed it has to 'reset' if you will, but then it works just fine with only the headphone port occupied.

First let me talk about why I wanted to purchase this product. Then, let me explain why I decided to return it. Now, there are a lot of good reviews on this splitter, so your mileage may vary. But in terms of what I was hoping to accomplish and the equipment that I was using, this splitter was a complete FAIL. Why did I purchase it? I own an LG G8 Thinq (the last flagship phone LG made in 2019 prior to exiting the smartphone segment). I tend to stream music via my phone (through Amazon Music HD) and the car’s AUX port. I have been doing this by simply taking a high quality 3.5mm audio stereo cable with two male heads and plugging one head into the AUX port and the other into the phone’s headphone jack. But then I wanted better sounding fidelity and thus purchased a THX Onyx dongle DAC (THXO). If you look this up, you’ll see that now the 3.5mm audio stereo cable needs to be connected to the THXO’s female 3.5mm port. And, the other side of the TXHO is a male USB-C which then plugs into the phone’s USB-C female port. However, if you do this, how do you then charge your phone at the same time? This is where this nifty type of product comes in. Its design would allow me to stream music (enhanced by the TXHO) and to charge my phone at the same time. But there were two serious problems that I experienced with this device: 1. If you plug the splitter into the phone AND then you only use the charging connector (pictured with the lightning bolt) to charge your phone, that connection got oddly and startlingly hot. In fairness, I should say that if you had both connections in play, then the connection point with the lightning bolt got warm while the connection for the 3.5mm audio cable remained cool. 2. If you plug the splitter into the phone AND then you only use the charging connector (pictured with the lightning bolt) to charge your phone, the phone actually DOES NOT charge. It continues to lose battery life. In fairness, I should say that if you had both connections in play, then my charger did work in terms of increasing my phone’s battery life. I am going to order an identical looking product from another vendor and will just keep my fingers crossed.

I never want to be without this splitter! I do lots of video editing on my phone for work and I hate ear bud headphones. (Unpopular opinion, I’m weird. I know.) So I constantly need headphones plugged in. And editing videos takes a ton of battery life. So being able to charge and use headphones was a GAME CHANGER for me!! This splitter is compact and well made. I should order a spare….just in case! Great product and great price. Absolutely recommend to anyone in the market.

I was looking for a solution to charge my iPad while connected to an external DAC/AMP. This splitter is not it. A lot of interference and it just doesn't work. Look elsewhere. Update (9/19/2022): I can confirm that this will cause issues for those using this splitter for external DAC/AMPs for audiophiles. When I use this with my iPad mini 6 and iPad Pro M1 (2021) with one end charging and the other end plugged directly into one of the following, these things happen: - Topping DX3 Pro +: There is a lot of interference and it's terrible to listen to music. Works perfectly fine without the splitter. - JDS Labs Element III: The DAC/AMP would cut out completely after a couple of seconds. I have manually pull the power cable out to restart the DAC/AMP to get it working again. When I don't use this splitter, it works fine. It's as if there is an issue with the allocation of power in the splitter and the DAC/AMP had to go into safe-mode. This USB-C splitter doesn't work with higher quality DAC/AMPs as their USB engine is sensitive to hose USB disruptions. "It's important to to avoid splitters and KVMs" the owner of JDS Labs had emailed me. Overall, I do not recommend this product for an audiophile setup.

I constantly forget to check the charge on my phone, so many times when needing to make a call there is not enough charge. This splitter has been a lifesaver since I can call and charge my phone at the same time.

Worked out perfectly. Connected an Android phone to a speaker and a charger in parallel, and using it as a media centre that's always plugged in.
