Got Palm Trees ? You WANT THIS !!!!
BACKGROUND: After retiring to Florida in 2013, in 2021 I ended up on a tiny property with nine Palm Trees, some over 25' tall. What a MESS THEY WERE !!!!! The former owner had not touched them in years. I hired a crew to come in and clean them up, trim them and get them ready for Hurricane Season. Almost $1,000 ( but they also got them in great shape and hauled away a Mountain of Palm Tree $#%&, so just one of those "Joys" of home ownership. I thought: "Now I will be able to 'maintain' them". I just needed a pole saw... **SHOPPING**: I looked and looked all over on-line ( HD, Lowe's, Ace, Amazon and some specialty lawn&garden websites ). It took some looking. I had been told Exactly what to get, including that it HAD to have the short 'Claw' at the bottom of the curved blade !!!. I finally settled on the 14' Hooyman Extendable 3-Section Tree Saw. I have used it for six months now and it just WORKS and WORKS REALLY WELL !!!!! The pole extends easily, but is still solid enough that I can easily slice off some really big 3" stuff, sometimes in just 3 or 4 sharp pulls with the blade ( and Palm Trees are TOUGH ) !!! THE BLADE: That Curved Blade, Hook at the Tip and 'Claw' at the bottom is CRAZY GOOD !!!! AMAZING !!!! Really Sharp, it is Stainless Steel and doesn't Rust !!!! The Teeth have just the right Shapes and Sets, for what I need and it seems to be holding up VERY WELL - Still Razor Sharp after 40 ? - 50 ? Cuts through Heavy Palm ( 50 Lb Seed "Pods", palm fronds, branches ? stalks ? - I don't know the names ), but all of the other $#%& that these trees throw off monthly !!!! Awful, Filthy, Messy Trees - GREAT POLE SAW !!!! Can't say enough about HOW GOOD IT HAS BEEN !!!! I've had (cheap) lopping/pruning pole saws in the past - all pretty much junk. THIS SAW IS ***FANTASTIC***. I'm sorry that replacement blades are not offered, but ( IF ) mine eventually gets to where it is taking a lot more work to cut, I will take it to a Pro and let them re-sharpen it !!!! - Don -

Quick replacement.
Works great easy to install. If you take your time and realize this saw only cuts when pulling and just let to do the work vs forcing it will last a long time

decent quality
Given the goofy product name I was a little skeptical when I ordered this pole saw, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that it's fairly well constructed and of decent quality. The blade is plenty thick and strong enough in spite of what some reviewers have said. My only real complaint is that there are only two locking pin holes in each handle extension (unlike with Fiskar or other brands which have multiple locking pin holes at regular intervals). As a result the two handle extensions can only be extended to their full length. If they're not extended fully the pins aren't engaged in holes, and the plastic locking clamps are insufficient to lock the extended handle section. I found that when I started sawing with the extension handle only partially extended and locked with the plastic clamp, the extended section would gradually slide out of the handle, which was frustrating.

Professional grade pole saw
I needed this for my fruit trees that have been neglected for years at my new place. I'm not a fan of powered saws for "small" branch work, but I also didn't want to spend the $ on something that's going to see use like one weekend a year at best. So for that parameter, this is perfect. That said ...I've done arborist work in my past, but never needed to own my own tools for the jobs. This setup is easily one that we would have used on site. Very sharp yet flexible blade makes for quick work. The pole isnt round so the ability to handle the extensions was a breeze.Highly recommend

Great for small, around the house & cleaning up hunting areas!
TL;DR: performed flawlessly for a quick job around the house and clearing out some heavy, thick brush in the woods.Ordered this product back in June '19 for a branch that was intruding on my front porch/ upstairs window. Needless to say, it made very short work of that. Fast forward a few months to the start of hunting season (Oct/ Nov). We needed to put up a few stands and perform some long-overdue maintenance on a fourth. We allotted ourselves the entire weekend seeing as going into it, we all knew it was going to be a lot of work and didn't think 1 day was enough to knock it all out. To make a longer story even shorter, we were able to get all 3 stands up AND cut out shooting lanes for all 4 stands by the early afternoon on the first day!About the only flaws I found with it are: 1) price. it's not unreasonable but wish replacement blades were cheaper; 2) you need to be careful of the cutting angle on it. had to try to bend the blade back into a "straight" line a few times when it got away from me being fully extendedAll in all, I am very happy with my purchase and so were the people helping me that day since they already purchased one for themselves.
