Works as planned

I'm near the end of a 50 trial comparison of these strips with the Medtronic/Bayer Contour Next meter/strips. The latter are ALWAYS higher than the Neo strips, on the average of 30 mg/dL difference, but these strips are within the value of the sensor usually <10 mg/dL. Abbott customer support said the accuracy of the sensor could only be compared when using the Neo strips. So, that's what I did, and the results have been reassuringly consistent. My experience tells me only that my Medtronic/Bayer glucometer, this particular one, is inaccurate. I think the Contour strips are OK, but over HUNDREDS of fingersticks, the Medtronic/Bayer blood glucose values have been suspicious, and I have to "adjust" my insulin dose. That gave me a lot of true low values for BG. The excellent comparison of the strips with the sensor has led me to rely on the sensor (interstitial cell glucose, not blood glucose) for dosing Novolog. The sensors have been favorably reviewed on websites where there's a lot of comments from (Type I and Type II) users in Europe, where the sensors have been in use for a couple years. Like everybody says, I'm betting my life on the sensors, I'll find out with my next A1c. My A1c values have been around 6.4 for nearly 3 years. 69 years old, 285 pounds.
