ESV Student Study Bible

It’s such a beautiful and outstanding Bible! I love the blue and how it is descriptive when studying. I don’t have any complaints! I got a note book with it and it was a great decision because I can study and take note at the same time. Once again it’s a beautiful Bible and it’s great for anyone and everyone, it’s so easy to understand! Recommend purchase :)

Crossway offers many options for study bibles — almost too many. They generally fall into “full” and “compact” versions. The compact reduces the amount of notes for portability. The “student” bible is one of the compact versions, aimed at students. Despite the name, I found this bible perfectly appropriate for adults and bible students of any age or profession. What makes this bible stand out is attention to detail in the content and the typography at a very approachable price. On the content side, I appreciate the amount of summarization and overview material. Including Old, New testament, a summary for each book, reviews/summaries of primary characters (e.g. Paul, Timothy, David , etc), Historical & regional summaries etc. The material is very thorough for beginners to experts. And crossway has been careful to distinguish from biblical word and non-biblical historical content. In a dense study bible, high quality Typography is very important to assist readability. Crossway does a great job using brown to distinguish diagrams, summaries, side-bars , maps and other highlights throughout each book. The bible and notes are both distinguishable type, and the paper is a good compromise of thickness and opaqueness. There’s only minimal bleed and it doesn’t affect readability for me ( i don’t use glasses). My only complaint is the lack of highlighting Christ’s word in red as found in many bibles. An acceptable setback. If you are new to the bible, the Crossway ESV Study bible is a great match for anyone . It’s a comprehensive study bible that’s also portable . And the ESV translation is both very readable and closer to a word-for-word translation than NIV. If you are on the fence , go for it. You may be using a bible app , or just curious about the bible. You’ll find so much historical and cultural influence throughout the bible. Nearly every story , every idiom, so many names of your friends and family , and so much of history has origins in the bible. Everyone should have one of these at home.

This men’s Bible is beautiful and inspiring! I bought it for my son. The layout is easy to read, and the design feels thoughtful and elegant. I love the added devotionals and reflections tailored for men—they really help me connect with the passages on a personal level. The paper quality is excellent, and it lays flat when open, which makes reading and note-taking easier. It’s become a cherished part of my son's daily routine and a source of encouragement and guidance. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a meaningful and well-made Bible!

I really like the ESV translation. I bought a couple of the Study Bibles as gifts for my younger family members. I think they are a great learning tool for young believers as they journey through the scripture.

My son requested an ESV study Bible but he didn't want a gigantic, heavy one. This one is light and easy to use & carry but still has good notes in it. I myself am not a fan of the ESV version, but he enjoys reading it and that is what they use in his youth group. Good solid Bible and it should last a while.

I bought the teal cover first and it was slick, cheap-feeling plastic. This one is MUCH nicer. It looks like leather (sort of) and has a nice feel. The contents are based on the full-sized study Bible- smaller print and maybe summarized to a little more than half the original note's content. There is no way I would carry the full-sized study bible around, so it's a good compromise. I like it.

Great insights on customs of biblical times great quality and super good price compared to others.

We’ve been researching study Bibles for several months; trying to find the best option for our teenager. We landed on this ESV Student Study Bible, as we were confident in the study notes written and edited by JI Packer, and Wayne Grudem. And we felt like the articles and “extras” were a better fit for our intellectual teen, than the things in the ESV Teen Study Bible. We also see this as being a long term study Bible, well into his adult years. It’s a thicker Bible, since it’s a study bible. But the tru tune cover is sturdy and seems well made. The pages seem thinner than normal to me but it may just be the ink/text type, since you can see through it. I’ve included several pictures, so you can see what’s all included. Especially some of the “articles” written in the back.

We bought this for a Christmas present and it was exactly what we wanted. It is the perfect size for taking to church and using for study a t home. Our son especially loved the two tone leather design of the cover.

The faux leather backing is sturdy yet flexible and this Bible lays flat great. The notes are exactly the level I was looking for and do a great job at describing the cultural context of a particular verse, other verses to refer to for the same theme, and even alternate translations of a particular word. As a rather literal translation of ancient Biblical texts this is so useful, and the ESV translation captures the poetry and beauty, but doesn't always make for light reading. You'll have to read it slowly and revisit much of what you've covered to squeeze the interpretation out of it but you won't regret it.

If you are getting on in life the text is very small so be prepared.

The delivery was quick and flawless. Even came before the actual scheduled date. The bible was what i expected and even more. Very portable easy to carry in a backpack. Imitation leather very good quality. I havent dived deep into the contents as yet but looks good from the browse. And has extrs notes etc. However i have looked at the back index where certain topics are highlighted its not in a format im used and is bit limited. Which was a bit dissapointment
