Review: The Best Arm Sling - I usually do not write desertcart reviews but have to share feedback for the Healjoy Medical Arm Sling with Split Strap. I had right shoulder replacement about a month ago and purchased this sling for use after surgery. I have to say this is a must buy if you are getting shoulder surgery. It is comfortable on the shoulder with a breathable wide strap. It has two looped rings in the front where you can place your thumb and another finger to keep the sling forward comfortably while providing maximum support. It has allowed me to heal but also with the ability to stay mobile. I purchased this for my right shoulder but works for either side. The price is also right. This sling is better than the ones prescribed by Doctors for the surgery and the other immobilizer was basically worthless after the first 48 hours.

It is actually the correct length for a taller person, has padding for the wrist, an easy to use adjustable strap, and best of all very nice neck padding. The arm and shoulder are not fatigued wearing it and it is easy to get on and off. Sleep is also comfortable with the thumb loop. We would recommend this sling especially if you have to wear one for more than a day.

**Q: how long is the strap (will it fit a short fat female?**
A: I'm a tall fluffy female and it will fit just fine. It's a great sling. I had a fractured shoulder and this was way better then the cheap from the ER!

**Q: what is the length of the sling from elbow to wrist?**
A: Elbow to wrist strap is 14.5".

**Q: what kind of fabric is it? synthetic? natural fiber?**
A: I'm not sure, but it was comfortable.  I don't think it was a natural fabric though.

**Q: female 5'1 125lbs. will the sling be small enough?**
A: I am a 5 foot 105 pound female and the sling was much too large for me.  I wish they provided more measurements. My elbow to knuckle measurement is about 12 inches and even with the straps tightened all the way my arm is not high enough. I don't tend to believe in"one-size-fits-all" and will have to return this.

This sling is very good post surgery. The hospital sling was a cheap joke and ended up making my shoulder hurt. I purchased this shoulder sling while deailng with very bad and painful frozen shoulder of my dominant arm. I was SO impressed with this shoulder sling in every way! It was very easy to use, lightweight, easy to adjust, breathable, and comfortable to wear. It had excellent and effective shoulder padding and support. The material was comfortable and did not cause irritation or chafing. For the price, I consider this purchase a good value with a very reasonable price. I used it for several months, and the item held up very well, indicating that it is good quality and durable. I am a small/thin/petite woman with thin arms, so the arm sleeve portion was a bit baggy for me, but it was still very usable and comfortable. This also indicates that this item could be used by much larger and heavier people than myself. This shoulder sling was a great tool for me to use during the time I was dealing with the frozen shoulder condition at its worst, when I was most afflicted and to some degree, debilitated, by this condition. I would recommend it to anyone with frozen shoulder who needs to rest their shoulder by using a sling.
