the famous Wales UFO cases. this is considered the best effort in reporting that wave. if you can get this cheap, get it! don't pay 200 bucks. sooner or later a cheaper copy will surface. well written.

I've been recommending this book to practically everyone I know. A classic investigation of a series of alien encounters reported in Wales, 1977. Every bit as weird and unsettling as John Keel's The Mothman Prophecies---check it out!

The authors do an excellent job interviewing eyewitnesses, getting as much information as possible from them concerning UFOs, UFO landings and descriptions of humanoids seen on the ground. One of three very good books on this subject, the others being The Welsh Triangle and The Uninvited. Details of various animal reactions are also included, e.g. "He's a completely changed dog. He's a dog who has become nervous and, on occasion, has what I can only describe as a depression." Pugh and Holiday interviewed the lady and observed that her spaniel, which they say is an invariably friendly breed of dog, completely ignored them, went straight to its basket, curled up and closed its eyes.Dogs, ponies, cows all seemed terrified of strange things seen in the sky and on the ground in West Wales in 1977. Various descriptions are given of beings in silver space suits, with blank faces. One is seen at the boundary of the Brawdy NATO airbase. Another apparent alien is observed walking in the air. The being, with an oval face, long brown hair, slanted eyebrows walked backwards into a UFO. The dog of the eyewitness subsequently refused to sleep downstairs, instead slinking upstairs with its tail between its legs to sleep.Elsewhere, an apparent accident is seen, complete with blue flashing light, apparent barriers, and an apparent mass, by a car driver. But when they approach, there is nothing there. Radio interference occurs. Then an amorphous black mass is seen in the sky. The authors state that Betty and Barney Hill also saw an apparent accident, with flashing lights and wonder if it was an attempted abduction that was aborted. When the driver arrived home, her normally three friendly dogs didn't greet her. One dog fled and eventually returned shaking with fear, then refused to go outside for a week.For the most part the book contains various unsettling eyewitness reports. Towards the end, it seems that Holiday has more input and introduces his idea of a "Goblin universe". However, the book states that the reported 1890s airships represent a paradox and that the authors do not know how noxious odours and sounds relate to the paranormal in nature.
