Opostos/ Opposites (Portuguese and English Edition)

My family speaks English and Portuguese, so when our newest grand baby turned one year old I was looking for something to reinforce Portuguese (since we live in predominantly English speaking surroundings). This is one of the early learning books that I found; it is perfect for little ones to hold, has engaging pictures, and words appear in both languages. Had to purchase it!

I bought as a gift for my baby cousins (whose mom is Brazillian). We don’t have any resources in porteguese in our area and she speaks only porteguese to them. This was a great gift to be able to give and she assured me the words are all correct! This board book is well loved and holding up to two toddlers.

This is a great little board book for bilingual toddlers, with nice pictures (some with easier colour contrast than others). It is educational in its intent dealing as it does with opposites, and is complimentary so some others by Wildsmith; such as Quantos Animais Sao? / Animals to Count that focuses on early counting. Like other bilingual kids' books, it could also be quite useful for the grownups in bilingual settings who are still basic in the second language!

This book is small and perfect for little hands. It is also easy to carry in one's purse or diaper bag. However the drawings are not very vibrant or interesting, so my baby rather look at other books. It will probably be more useful when he can focus more on the languages rather than on the pictures.

Cute little book! Decent quality

Not colorful. Not attractive for kids. No nolor contrast.

Great for teaching Portuguese.
