Large, sturdy, affordable desk. The side shelves are huge...we are able to fit a large printer on the bottom shelf. They're tall enough to display an 8x10 photo frame. The desk itself is taller than normal desks, which is something we were looking for. Overall, this is a wonderfully functional and really pretty piece of furniture. It goes great in our living room and will be perfect for my husband when he starts working from home next month. Now, I will say this, perhaps the packaging could be a little sturdier-- the desk we have assembled is actually the 2nd one. The first one we received had a large hole in the box. It looked like something fell on it during shipping. This put a HUGE hole in the desk itself, and made it unusable. If the packaging were a little thicker around the pieces, this wouldn't have happened. However, Amazon got a second desk out to us SUPER fast.

It's well worth the price! Bigger than I expected. Great big surface area. The top desk is 21.6 inches deep and 60" wide, 21 5/8 deep and 2 inches thick. The unit stands 32 inches tall. It's 25" from the inside of one leg to the inside of the other. So plenty of room. The legs are very solid and are 2"x 2" at the corners. It comes in a very heavy box. Doesn't take too long to put together but as another person posted, the instructions aren't clear for tops and bottoms. It is laminate, hollow core and particleboard so the edges may not hold up. My college student daughter put it together and had to re do the tops and bottoms. No big deal. Hoping it holds up for some time. Update: Daughter had a few college students move her and they nicked the corner of the desk on the front door. So a part of the corner is peeling up. Not bad just wanted to update. Daughter uses this desk to study and put on make up. I highly recommend a desk blotter because of the make up, etc...

I got this for my TV stand when I first moved into my house, and the only problem is when the dogs ran through the house it giggled the TV off the stand and broke it. So I got a wall mount for my next TV. However, I love this stand and use it to hold all of my picture, nick-nacks, flower arrangements and candles, that decorate my living room, so I am happy with it.

If you are looking for a high quality desk, this is not the desk for you. However, if are looking for a simple desk that will get the job done, this desk is perfect. As a college student, I was not looking for a super fancy desk that would last a lifetime. I wanted a cheap desk that I would be able to use for the school year. This desk meets those requirements.Overall, the quality is not amazing. Even having the desk for about a month, there are already noticeable scratches on the desk. The desk itself is made out of some synthetic/compressed wood material. I will say that the surface of the desk is huge, which is really useful when I want to spread all my notes out on the desk, or if I want to have my laptop on the desk as well as some notes. Also, the shelving space is nice. I have the desk right next to my bed so I put a fan on one of the shelves and it was at the perfect height.This desk does come disassembled, but the assembly was not all that difficult. I was able to put it together in about 45 minutes to an hour. Some of the assembly is a little cumbersome, but it is doable. It does come with an allen wrench, but you will also need a screwdriver.In summary, if you are looking for a cheap desk, this is a pretty good desk for the price.

I have bought 2 of these desks 6 years apart and you cannot tell which one is new and which one is old!It is extremely sturdy and yet surprisingly lightweight. And if you ever had a set of legos, the quality and ingenuity of the parts allow you to do much more than simply create the Double Pedestal Look. As you can tell in the pictures, out of one desk you can create 4 tables.I have taken the long top and placed it on my homemade moveable cabinets using the dowels as natural stoppers and now have the perfect sewing table.I have taken the square shelves and combined them with custom-made luggage racks and created some amazing side tables.You can also use the legs to create an X-shaped and create your own luggage rack look pedestal.As far as regular assembly, the instructions are very easy to follow with huge diagrams. Just remember when you attach the legs to the middle shelf to have all the large end holes on the same side and facing inward. (see assembly picture.) It took me 30 minutes total.I also liked that the hardware came in a bright pink bag with string on it to help it stand out. And each set of items are then individually packed so you don't have to go foraging through a bag of screws and dowels.The only additional tools you need are a hammer and a handheld screwdriver. Don't use an electric one since the additional torque could break things.
