Banana Soft Baked Breakfast Biscuits

These are tasty! I try a lot of High Key products, and these are a winner! They do have a hint of that artificial sugar flavor, so if you're sensitive to that flavor these are not for you. I wouldn't recommend eating more than 1 serving amount in a sitting, as it can upset your stomach.

I live a low carb lifestyle and I’m always looking for new products to enhance my diet and expand variety. High key makes a number of foods that fit this bill. These banana bread muffins are SO yummy. They are great for on the go when you don’t have time to cook. They make a great breakfast or snack. The texture is soft but not as soft as a muffin so the slight chewiness adds to the enjoyment. The smell and taste is very natural and delicious. There is no artificial aspect to them. I only wish they were a little more affordable because I can go through these very fast.

These are individually wrapped biscuits about 3-4 inches across and 1 inch thick. The texture is dense and chewy, more like a chewy granola bar rather than banana bread. They have a good flavor, the banana and spices are relatively mild, I would say they are a little on the sweet side. If they were any sweeter it might be too much. I think these are a great candidate for something to have in your backpack while on a hike or a healthier snack while at work. After reading some of the reviews I was looking for the artificial after taste some complained about, I personally did not taste it, even looking for it.

I was excited to try this because of all the positive reviews that I read. Unfortunately, I did not love this as much as other people seem to. First of all, I don’t love that each bar is individually wrapped in its own plastic wrapper. I try to limit the amount of waste that I contribute to the Earth, and all of this plastic is not helping. The bars are very soft, moist, and has a nice texture. They are also extremely dense and heavy. The taste is good when you first bite it, but there is an odd aftertaste that lingers in your mouth after swallowing. I was only able to eat half of the bar because of how much I disliked the aftertaste.

They definitely taste like banana bread to me. Banana bread with a lot of cinnamon. These have a definite cinnamon flavor, it's not listed on the label, but it's covered under "spices". I think the texture and taste are excellent considering it is not baked, not bread is gluten free and keto. I like the sweetness level and find it not too sweet and just sweet enough. To me it's the cinnamon that gives it a lot of the sweet flavor. Personally I find them addictive! Yum! :-)

I didn't know how I was going to like this...I've made keto banana breads, and some are okay, but as far as pre-made banana bread snacks--yuck. None have been good. These ones are pretty good! There is the "cool" feeling on your tongue from erythritol, but the sugar alcohol taste is not overpowering. The best part, in my opinion, is actually the combination of seeds in this biscuit. Keto or not, it makes me feel like I'm eating something that is healthy and good for me. It is definitely NOT the same as banana bread, but it is a tasty replacement if you're missing the taste of bananas on keto.

So this is the first review I ever leave on Amazon, but I felt compelled to do so because I rely heavily on others' reviews, and am very grateful for how we help each other in this community. Anyway, I bought the Banana Bread Breakfast Biscuits because they got such good reviews from other people... and now I regret doing so. Before buying this product, I had never heard of (or consumed) allulose. I've come to find out from doing online research (after eating them) that, even though the manufacturers state that it's found in fruits, the way it's actually manufactured is as a derivative of GMO corn. Not only is it way too sweet, but it causes gastric distress (bloating, gas, pain, etc.). And it gave me a bit of brain fog when I first ate it, although that didn't last. So the rest of the box is going in the garbage.

My initial thought on opening the package was that these resemble YES bars. I was cautiously optimistic that they might taste as good as a YES bar too. Surprise! They’re delicious! They’re less “banana bread” flavor to me and more “cinnamon and ginger spice”, but that’s okay, I appreciate the little extra tingle of spice it has. These are definitely going to be a great morning treat to help me stick to my low carb way of eating. Highly recommend!
