Maybelline New York Master Prime Long-Lasting Eyeshadow Base, Prime + Smooth, 0.23 fl. oz.

As strange as this is, I have dry skin all over my entire face except my eyelids,they get very oily, especially after I turned 50! This stuff works perfect!! thank you so much. I love it. My eyeshadow has stayed on all day long, no creasing at all!!

They never shoul have taken it out of market!!! Make up stays well with it. Hard to get out of tube when about half way through, so I drop it into warm water and tapped it to get more out

I tend to get eyeshadow creases even when using "no-crease" primers that other folks swear by, so my hopes weren't too high for this but, at the price, it seemed worth a shot. I have huge eyelids with deep natural creases and I like to layer my eyeshadow colors, so I put this to to the test and it PASSED! No creases at all after all day and evening wearing eyeshadow. More impressively, the eyeshadow stayed PUT even after a couple workouts (during which all the rest of my makeup sweated off). I like the light color - it works well as the brow bone color for my fair skin when I want to layer the shadow colors a little less than usual. Shimmery but not glittery. The problem is the bottle: it's a hard bottle and there's no way that the little wand actually can scrape around in the whole bottle. I feel like a lot of product is sticking to the sides and I can't get to it. (I store the bottle upside down, but that doesn't seem to help.) So it sort of feels like I'm going to end up wasting a lot. Unlike a soft-sided tube, I can't even cut the bottle in half to get to the stuff. I'll still buy it again since it works so well.

Nice application, kind of hydrating instead of drying. Not too white of a tint. It looks very natural on my eyes. Seems to work well.

The product arrived unopened in the box but it is not a quality makeup primer. It is supposed to be creamy and liquid but it dry and lumpy. It does not go on the eyelid smooth, it is dry and pulls the skin. It is too dry and eyeshadow on top is harder to blend and pulls the skin. I was replacing it and ordered online instead of going out to shop. There was a delay in needing to open it and it was past the return date. This is not Maybelline's fault but the product being resold or something and old/older merchandise being sold on A mazon as new by one of their subsellers.

"Maybelline New York Master Prime Long-Lasting Shadow Base, Prime Plus Smooth" applies easily and can be patted with your pinkie so that it lies in a thin layer on your eyelid. However when used without eyeshadow, it is almost as if you have a pearlescent crème shadow applied. When used with eyeshadow, the base does help maintain the shadow for fairly long periods of time, but when the shadow is gone, you have pearlescent lids. I prefer L'Oreal's De-Crease Eyelid Primer which was not available when I ordered this product.

After trying several eye primers, Maybelline got it right. It stays on until it's washed off with soap & water. I found that to be a major plus since it has a very slight shimmer to it while also being a nice shade of nude allowing me to wear it alone when I am in a hurry. There is also absolutely Zero creasing, flaking, or bulking. I loved the paint brush type brush that came with it. I just swiped on a couple of swipes per eye and blended with a sponge and Voila! Simple yet pretty. Then if I want to apply shadow as well, it goes on much better and stays twice as long. I won't use another brand now.

The product itself is great - it's a nice color and really provides a good base layer for eyeshadow without highlighting my wrinkles (I'm getting to that "crepey eye" stage of life). I'm giving this primer two stars only because the bottle - from the very first use - is almost empty! Every time I use it, I have to swirl the wand around inside the bottle to collect some of the product on it (like you do when your mascara's gone dry). It feels like a huge rip-off and I won't buy this brand again because of that. And that's a shame, because if the bottle was actually FULL of product, then this would be a five star review.

Tricky to use, but very long lasting.
