Caliper is precise and excellent quality, case could be better
The Performance Tool Electronic Digital Caliper is of excellent quality for the price. Measurements are on par with my other, more expensive tools. If you've ever used a decent electronic caliper like this before, everything will be familiar. It even comes with an extra battery inside the case; however speaking of, it is the included case that I wasn't too happy with. When you have a precision instrument, you want a case that will protect it. Most digital caliper cases I've owned/seen consisted of a molded plastic shell and foam internals to cushion and keep the caliper safe during transport. This case though has no foam - it is completely 100% molded to shape both inside and out. Luckily I will be using this in a static setting where the case won't be needed much, but this is something to consider if you plan on having the caliper inside a tool bag or tool box.

Inexpensive and relatively accurate.
Great home use and value.

Feels cheap
But good enough for my DIY

Feels cheap
First thing first, it works and read accurate, but it does not feel smooth when you slide it. Some TriFlow helps a little bit, but not much. The case cutout does not fit prefect either. Overall you got what you pay for.

Great item to have close by
As a handyman and small engine repairer, the number of times I use this caliper during any given week are countless. Almost everyday there is something that requires this kind of measuring precision so the caliper has a prominent position in my work area. Great tool to own.

not as pictured
The item pictured is a style of caliper from a few years ago , I have one and like it . So I wanted two more. I have several of the newer large screen auto on style from Harbor Freight that are bad , this is the exact same tool . The auto on feature ran the batteries down during shipping . The battery door slides off to the right instead of sliding down as pictured. Which is a bad idea since the doors fall off without using tape to hold them on. With installing the spare battery and taping on the battery doors , both of the new calipers work at least a little. Once you turn on and zero the tool and use it , it does not always return to zero when you close it . Usely .001 to -.001. I am not impressed with the new design .

Great for the Price.
Works as expected. Not heavy duty but good for occasional use. Easy to slide but grips so it wont move unintentionally.

4 inch Electronic Digital Caliper
I had doubts about the carbon fiber composite caliper. The unit looks like plastic but I have been very happy with the strength and accuracy. This was purchased for taking measurements on hobby-grade projects. I use this more than my micrometer and it's handy having measurements in millimeters or inches.

Don't expect too much for that price. But I still like it.

Seems accurate enough. Good value at $20 plus tax.
Low in cost but not really cheap in the perjorative way. This caliper seems pretty repeatable and holds zero pretty well throughout its range. The thumbwheel actually is a friction fine adjust wheel unlike most calipers I've used recently, I regard this as a bonus. There is a bit more slack evident in the slide than some verniers I've used but it doesn't seem to affect accuracy or repeatability; it just makes it feel cheap. It comes supplied with 2 batteries (and it uses only one) so having a spare was an unexpected bonus.I have no idea at all how I might use the "data port" and can't find any info on it. A waste of time for me but all the digi calipers I've seen have them (I guess the part is made by one manufacturer and added to many label's calipers Still it'd be nice to know how it might be used.Use put to so far has been rifle cartridge reloading and for that it's been fine.
