If I had one thing to improve it would have been the alignment of the shield along the edge of the hood (the outer edges are slightly uneven, see second photo)Overall, I am highly satisfied with this matte finish hood shield for my F-150 Platinum. Fits my 2020 F-150 Platinum great!OverallThe price is good and Amazon ships it Prime. Hard to beat that. Mine actually came direct from the manufacturer.Shipping box is big but it’s a hard thing to box. It comes wrapped in plastic with instructions and hardware.Now for the installation.Not exactly plug and play but not too hard.I cut the inner flanges smaller (on the ends) with my Dremel (since they hit the inner curve of the hood) and opened up the outer tab holes as well (not a lot just maybe half the existing width plus). I also replaced the supplied push pins with bigger ones from the auto parts store. They are a GM push pin that is just a little bigger and come in a 4 pack from that rack that has all the push pins (if you visit the auto parts store you’ll know what I mean). The supplied ones probably could work but there so darn small and hard to get to stay in since the part doesn’t sit perfectly flush and the pins need to pull it down. Just get bigger ones and make your life easier. I opened up the holes a little with my drill to get the bigger pins in. It’s an aluminum hood and it’s under the gasket, it will be fine!With the new push pins it works great. Also I waited to put the metal clips on until I had it attached with the push pins. It’s ez to do, put the protective tape down, put the clips on.In the end it looks great, the factory gasket still works, and nothing rubs.Last thing, the instructions say to adjust the hood stops up 1.5 turns. I did but then I put another half in the passenger side and took a half out of the driver side so the hood is flush to the fenders. Hood latches well and again nothing rubs. Also, I stuck the bumpers to the piece instead of the truck.Overall happy and would purchase again!

I should have bought the hood protector years ago before the front edge of the hood got so many chips. Works great, easy to install, and looks great. Covered all the chips along the front of the hood.

Form/Quality: The first one was not assymetric...laid on flat surface (see pic) and right side flat but left side turned up at a 45 degree angle near the end. It had to have been bent just to fit in the box. I returned that one for replacement. The 2nd one was better with only a slight bend near the end so I decided to try and install it. The AVS decal fell off the deflector when I opened up the plastic. I decided to leave it off thinking it would only come off later anyway. It took about 30 minutes to remove the glue residue with alcohol and cotton swabs.Installation: Had to stand on a step stool(I am 5'11") because hood is so high when opened. Deflector has slotted holes and they are filled with the chrome plating so that has to be removed first with a screwdriver or small knife etc. I removed the existing plugs from the seal and hood carefully with wire cutters, only getting the cutters under the head and then prying off and careful not to cut them in half leaving the plug in the hood. The female expansion plugs are so small and have to go in the deflector holes and into the hood but under the rubber hood seal. Very limited space and the deflector is not formed well to fit. I dropped the fasteners several times before losing one in the engine compartment somewhere. The reason they don't hold together and keep popping out, is there has to be no gap between the deflector and hood. So I had to squeeze it very tightly together with one hand and then insert the screw/plug which then causes the female plug to expand and then it held in place. I cut down a small plastic sheet rock molly and used a screw for the missing one. Once all 4 were secure I noticed that because of the amount of moving the deflector around to get it attached, the metal bracket clips installed in step 1 of the instructions had scratched my hood. Fortunately it was only where they are installed. I recommend skipping step 1 until ready to attach them to the hood. The final install looks great but a real pain to install. My Toyota TRD took about 10 minutes...this took over an hour on my F150.Summary: Other reviewers suggested self tapping screws and if mine come out, I will be doing that. The hood closed keeps it on so I'm not worried about it coming off at highway speeds and I think the 4 fasteners only keep it from shifting side to side (shear vs tensile). Final install looks great but very frustrating to install and I recommend an alternate method like screws. Hopefully the chrome finish will last. I'm saving the box and any issues with it will result in a return.

Contrary to some other reviews I found it to be a perfect fit out of the box with the included hardware. Yes the screws are plastic but they are meant to replace the plastic clips for the rubber seal and won't corrode the aluminum hood like a steel screw would. The clips with screws are finicky to install and you have to remove the plastic clips that hold the rubber seal first, but everything aligned with the factory holes and held tight once installed. Looks great!

The first one arrived by Canada Post damaged. I refused delivery. It was replaced within 4 days, delivered by UPS. IMPRESSIVE. It was a bit fidgety to install alone on my 2020 F-150, but completed with no issues. A helper to hold in place before adhering would have been nice, but I did it on my own with careful perseverance. WOW! After instal I stood back to admire and was very impressed how tight all the seams were. No gaps. The 3M adhesive holds this tightly in place. I've had this on for over 45,000 kilometers now! Through Canadian winters, rain sleet, snow and uncountable car washes. It is stuck! No flapping, (don't rat me out) but it's seen speeds of over 170kms/hour. 105mph/hr for those down south. Do not waste your money on the acrylic versions. They will flap, scratch your paint and finally self destruct in the car wash. Been there, done that! Treat yourself, to one of the best looking upgrades you could install to your pride and joy today. You will not be disappointed! John Wolfe

Be sure and follow instructions and mount UNDER the rubber hood seal. I personally didn't trust the plastic compression plugs to hold it on, so I fastened it down with machine screws, adds a sleek look to your truck, and is rock solid,
