Installs very easy, at least the second time. The first one I received was defective. The little squares that you put the square shaft through weren’t lined up and made that part difficult. So I was expecting that on the replacement but was pleasantly surprised to see that was not the case. The real reason I had to have it replaced was it wouldn’t let me set an unlock pin. Then I could after multiple attempts. The only way I knew for certain that the master code was changed was because it allowed me to put it in silent mode. So once I got a pin set, it wouldn’t unlock the door. You could hear the solenoid, but no joy. Furthermore, the pass through switch you heard the solenoid but no unlocking. Needed the key. Kinda defeated the purpose of the keypad. The return was super speedy. The lock feels solid, quality built. Would definitely order again. Don’t know what happened with that first one.First one aside. My only 2 complaints the instructions for setting codes, etc are hard to read. Literally, there needs to be more contrast between the characters and the background. Dark gray with a slightly liter shade of gray. That and nowhere does it tell you that you hit # after you type in the pin code during use. Consider that the “unlock button” the setting directions have you hit #, but just say type in PIN number to open. Still 5 stars.

Update after 2 years: The item gets 5 stars now. I've had it on an exterior door in Michigan, and had no problems. One feature that is helpful over more complex locks is a manual switch that toggles between always unlocked and always locked. I've used that on several occasions and it's very convenient compared to other locks that need an app to interface and choose these features.Unit installs as easy any replacement lock, and the electronic cable is pretty easy to connect, maybe slightly harder than the Yale locks I've used.Unit was a little tricky to program, as the instructions were a little unclear, and you need to see the blinking light to see when your modes are entered/accepted. All in all once programmed it works well.

After getting locked out countless times or having to leave my door unlocked for someone else, I finally decided to buy one of these and boy am I glad I did. This keypad door knob works great! It was super easy to install even on my metal door. Fit perfectly with not too much extra adjusting, and worked right out of the box. Now we all can come and go as we please without worrying who has a key and who doesn't, whether or not the door is locked and who is locked out. I will soon be adding another to the back door.

Love this handle set. It looks classy and was easy to install. Was going to give it 5 stars but after 3 weeks it no longer opens consistently with the code. Not sure what is happening but one day it works and next day it doesn't. We tried it with the door open to make sure the deadbolt striker was binding but nope. Didn't take the code even with the door open. Then an hour later it worked fine. Will have to read up on it and find out why.

I slapped this on my main door because it was easier then using a key it only came with one backup key for if the battery dies. The manual that came with it didn't say how to program my own code into the key pad but after I looked it up it was easy enough. My wife was already looking for one for the other doors and for friends. The only problem I have is it over laps the dead bolt holes on the doors that already have them pre drilled. That being said I will have to replace the door if I want to put in a dead bolt.

After getting this all installed and nothing working I found the super mini wire plug was bad, two of the wires came right out when I was trying to unplug it. I assume that was the issue. I requested another to replace it and Amazon shipped it out speedy fast. annoyed that I had to take it all off again. It looks nice, I will update this when I get the replacement installed.Update, they sent out a replacement and after installing it, it does work EXCEPT it will not take a code change no matter what. I’ve tried many times for and hour but nothing. Hopefully it is me and not the handle!

This keyless latch worked better than I hoped! I put this on one of my outside doors that only had a single key handle-lock. The keyhole was getting worn out and difficult to put the key into it. This was an excellent replacement for that door handle. I like the option of unlocking the handle so that a code is not required for times during the day when the kids are coming in and out a lot. This was exactly what I was hoping for. I'm looking at getting more of these for inside the house! I highly recommend!.

Purchased a competitor's lock and was super disappointed. Took a chance on this one, and wow, what a pleasure! Very easy installation and setup, and so easy to use - works perfectly every time. Just touch the "2" and it's locked, and you can hear it "sizzle" when that occurs. 4-digit combo numbers work flawlessly, and I have set up several "guest" numbers over the past 6 months. It has survived torrential rains and freezing temperatures, too. Stainless steel remains attractive and maintenance free. I will buy this one again.
