**Q: Is this housing compatible with other filter types, for example is it possible to put a string or carbon filter in this housing?**
A: I would say no. This is a scale inhibitor housing. Search for the scale stick you need for this and you’ll see the difference. Look into the normal prefilter housing instead. I have both with clear canisters.

**Q: what pipe size is the inlet & outlet**
A: Inlet/Outlet Size	3/4"

**Q: Would this be a good choice for filtering the hot water line going to a humidifier? The water can be pretty hot, is my concern**
A: Yes, if maximum temperature is 100 degrees F

Installed just for tankless water heater like two years ago. When it came time to clean water heater, it came out pretty clean. Scale sticks can be expensive though. Sticks lasts approximately half a year.
